My work was throwing out a "bad" IBM P202 21" monitor today. I asked if I could have it saying I could probably tolerate it, take it home, set the gain up and focus it, and bam... free 21" trinitron monitor.

I ordered a Yamaha 24x10x40 CD-RW in Neweggs Refurb section for $109 shipped. A little high but Yamaha has that awesome Safeburn Technology. Anyways, I get the confirmation e-mail and it says the model number is CRW3200 RTL So I am hoping it will come with all of the UPCs because after I ordered I looked around for the specs and found there was a $30 MIR! So pray for me guys and hopefully this will work out.

My rebates are now looking very good.
I just came back from Europe yesterday and found about eight rebate checks waiting for me. After reconciling
it all this morning I am now down to $45.00 in rebates due. At one time I was over $300.00 in rebates.

I can honestly say that I have received every rebate that was due me. Sometimes I had work to do to fight for them. Keeping good documentation certainly helps. It also helps to fire off a letter when necessary.

The oldest one for $9.99 is from December. I will receive it eventually though. Looks like I will be making calls on Monday regarding it.

about 31.00 in rebates outstanding.

Have just started the cycle all over again today with the following purchases

just contacted compaq today and recieved verification that both of my $150 monitor rebates had been recieved, vere valid and being processed. Still have a $20 check from ati on the way, doubt that will be a problem with them, just sent out two more for $132 for nokia phones, but i also got service through them so theres no way out for them now,lol, and last but not least i just mailed out a $10 for the new linksys router and $80 for the new motorolla surfboard cable modem. $540 bucks, at least 300 on the way, the only thing better than new computer parts are FREE new computer parts. anyone else snag any of the compaq fs740 monitors? what a steal, its picture quality is excellent, i can see why they wanted 400 for one.

Just got my ATI 8500DV AIW from Newegg today. It was a refurb bulk. No game software (which is crap anyway) but came with everything else including the dvi-vga adapter they specifically said wasn't included. All of the cables, break out box, and remote are there and have never been opened. Works perfectly and this is a smoking deal for $156 including free fedex shipping.

I also bought the windowed Chieftec case from them last week but the included Turbolink power supply was defective. I got my rma replacement back today as well and they sent back the Antec 430W model instead. Much quieter and at least has a better reputation. Considering the psu alone is $73 I'm pretty happy with the $95 Chieftec case.

Interesting Deal for me Today.

Was in target and found a couple of $3.00 off a 12 pack of Code coupons on the floor (eagle eye!!!). They were valid so I go a couple of 12 packs for about $1.00 each.

The coke packs had a coupon inside of them work $5.00 each of music CD's from participating dealers. Only bummer was that there is a limit of $3.00 per household and it seems like they want each in a separate envelope. Other restrictions there also but need a law degree to decipher them. Actuall I did spend a little time interpreting them and there are various twists that I can see can be taken from their verbiage. Anyway will post both of my requests about a week apart.

I found out later that these coupons were attached to the front of Harry Potter DVD's and they expire on 6/1/02.

Also received a $15.00 coupon in the mail from Structure/Express Men. Will try one near work tomorrow and see if I can score anything with it.

Bought a product from TIGERDIRECT (scam company) and found out it was defective. I paid for another exchange item and Sent everything in original packaging and was told by their CSR that I would be refunded for my shipping. About Two week later, no refund and told me that my package was returned to me on 24th because my product didn't have plastic wrap!!!!!! First thing i do when i receive a product is rip the plastic and open it. This was an OEM packaging and I even sent the cardboard with product info to ensure its return. They gave me some bogus reason so that they wouldn't lose any $ on it. I asked for tracking # on it's return to my address and it turns out they lied initially about 24th shipment and in fact it was shipped out on 31st. They also told me i am not entitled to any shipping cost and called me a LIAR. I tried to justify and reason him but he HUNG UP on me. I called back and talked to diff CSR and asked for their manager but he told me there is no manager to contact. I called the tech dept again and they have my phone # on their ID and kept disconnecting me. TIGERDIRECT is nothing but a scam artist and I will NEVER buy from them again

I won the bid on a rubbish codegen case with pos power supply last summer, at that time there is $20 rebate for first time winner spend over $40, got that rebate in about oct. later there is another up to $20 rebate for first time winner on shipping, the shipping for case is a rip-off - way over $20, so I tried to file this rebate, now I received it.

so total price i paid is $15 (could win the bid at 13, but to make it over $40, I went ahead to bid at 15) + $25.99 shipping + ca tax = about $42. minus two $20 rebate, my final cost is just $2 for a rubbish codegen case with pos power supply - not bad.

Ok, lots of people got in on the Dell 120GB 8MB WD deal, and I kept reading that the warranty on it would be a year (versus 3 years like the retail WD). Well, my drive is clicking/locking up my system, and it I get an error code from the WD utility. I call Dell and they tell me the warranty is only 30 days, ie the regular time you get to return stuff. So, now I'm stuck with a faulty drive 40 days after owning it :*

Decent deal for me today. Went like this at Staples.
40 gig Maxtor ... tried PMing to CUSA or BB at 99 - 25.00. Mgr
couldn't do it but would take a 30 off coupon since I already bought a monitor from him (more
on this later). So the 40 Gig will be 99 - 30.00 and no tax (Lower Manhattan ... tax free days).

Also got 128 meg memory from him for 29.99 (PM'd with Best Buy) with a 10.00 rebate.

Already sold the HD for 99.00 and memory for 55.00

Had some other good deals today too at Staples.

Compaq 17" monitor for 140.00 delivered with a 150.00 rebate.

Yesterday scored a 24 speed CDRW for 20.00 after rebate (sold for 95.00).

All of it was tax free (last day today unfortunately). Supposed to be repeated in July again though.
