The link shows a Samsung part number, but its a chip part #. The graphic clearly shows a Samsung PCB. Still, I called them before placing the order. I was assured that it was Samsung chips w/ Samsung PCBs.

Wrong. I got Samsung chips on Powmem (?) PCBs.

Update: I called them today and they said they would look into this and call me back. About 15 mins later I got a call from them. The guy was very nice and told me they had made a mistake and that they would next day me 2 sticks of Samsung original along with an pre-paid RMA label to return the two generic pieces they shipped me originally.

I would like to moan about SBC Pacbell Internet Services here in California.

I am moving to a new city and scheduled my DSL connection to be cancelled on July 15th (next month). I did this on June 7th. A week later all the sudden my DSL is not working, and I'm not getting sync on the modem either. I called Tech Support to find out if the C/O might be having difficulty and low and behold I find out, they disconnected my service after like 1 hour of troubleshooting. Little did I know the horrific mistake this really was. Someone made a data entry error. and put in June 14th for the disconnect date.

To make this story as short as possible, It took 8 DAYS and literally 10 hours of phone time on my part, talking to literally 20 or more people just to get the signal turned back on. Then as of just a little earlier this evening my email finally starting working correctly too. I must have heard 15 different reasons as to why the signal was down and then not put back on from 15 different tech support poeple. I had personal names of line testers all the way to major hubs by the time everything was sorted out.

Needless to say, when I move I'm going to be using a NEW ISP and will not go back to Pacbell ever for ISP service. I realize, the DSL connection will be going through Pacbell equipment, but I won't be dealing with them directly for my internet connectivity ever again. The sad part is I was happy for 2 solid years. It took 1 week of this nightmare to ruin my customer loyalty.

Back to my Athlon XP 1600+ I got from newegg refurb for $55

It's an AGOIA Y - default voltage it would run flawlessly 170 FSB. That's 1785 mhz for $60ish, after voltage mod to my Iwill XP333 to allow 2.11v, I can safely run this thing at 1890mhz(at 2.03), not sure if it is stable though

Today I got my first free issue of maximum pc too.

Today i called my local blockbuster to see whether they have the lord of the rings dvd free after the purchase of the 10 week rental card. They said yes and that the sale is going on right then and i could come and pick it up. I went to the store and the lady at the counter (i think she was also the manager) immediately said that they cannot sell it until monday. I told them i just called 20 mins ago and they told me that the sale was going on. She just replied sorry and said no go. It was 10:00 in the night and needless to say i was frustrated.

Still waiting on a $20 Panasonic phone rebate. Date sent March 26, called to inquiry on June 26, they said to give it a few more weeks. At least they have my information. I think they were waiting for me to call before they send the check out. I sure hope so. :disgust:

2 weeks ago it dropped again to $169 so I did a return/rebuy
I was hoping it would drop again today and if it did I only expected it drop to 65% off reg price. It dropped alright to $84.74 which is almost 80% off :Q
I did another return/rebuy and walked out paying $91.73. Even I couldn't believe that price

This happened two years ago, but I wanted to brag anyways.
I was interested in purchasing a DVD player and I stumbled onto a website called "Value America" They were offering $150 "web" dollars to anyone who signed up on the website, so I did. After reading some DVD player reviews I settled on a pioneer dvd player listing at $300. At the time Pioneer was offering a $50 rebate which was only for "participating retailers". I called Pioneer and they verified that I would not qualify for the rebate. It seemed like a good deal anyway, so I went ahead and ordered the player for $300 - 150 web dollars for total price $150. There was no shipping or taxes added.

When the player arrived it contained a coupon entitling me to five free dvds, so I sent that in along with the rebate. I was having trouble with the player and after a few days realized that I had been sent a player that was programmed for region 2 rather than region 1 (I live in the US which is region 1). I called and arranged for a return without any problem. Of course, when I got the new player I once again received a coupon for the same 5 free dvd's which I again sent in. Imagine my surprise when my $50 rebate that I sent in without really expecting arrived in the mail. Soon after the second set of 5 DVDs also arrived. I went onto ebay and sold the duplicate DVDs for about $10 each.

Course then there's the story about Reel.com. Did any of you get involved in their trivia contest? You could enter with as many email address as you liked. Answer a question everyday for $1 coupon dollar. After 10 correct questions you could obtain a $10 coupon that was stackable with other coupons. I purchased over 20 DVDs for less than $10 after shipping using these coupons. This was quickly changed to only 25 cents per correct answer which made it hardly worthwhile.

Ordered an Xp 1800 on Saturday knowing they would not be able to process and ship until Monday like the website stated, but I wanted to get it ordered so I could have it done. Well come to find out today it just shipped! Three days after it should have. This was the first time I ordered from them and probaly the last. I usually order on the weekends and never had a company ship in the middle of the week. I am really dissapointed with the service from them, especially since they get rave comments here on AT. I did email them asking for my tracking # and also asked why it took so long but they avoided the question and instead said to call if I had any other questions.

Oh well, would have been nice to have the chip by this weekend to mess around with it before I go back to work.

Not a great deal but interesting at Target.
On 6/22/02 I bought a metal rack from Target for 20.00 (thought it was 15.00).
I was there yesterday and saw the same item on sale for 15.00. Luckily I had my receipt with me.
CS gave a hard time about the price adjust so I just bought another unit for 15.00 and immediately returned it using the 20.00 receipt. CSR wouldn't do it before but did it on return. Net result was the
same for me.
Used the 5.00 + tax to buy 150 oz Purex Laundry Detergent for $2.99.
Resisted buying anything else.

Omagh, you can get a price adjustment on a non-clearance item if the price is lower the week you bought it or the week after. That may be why she gave you a hard time. You did the right thing by buying another and using your old receipt to return it.

Just picked up a Visioneer 4400 usb scanner for $19.50 from staples, brand new, works great..also bought some other stuff( batteries, tape gun for fs/ft, other things totaling 40.99) and used $10 off coupon to bring the total to around $33...yay.
