Got up at 3:30am after finally falling asleep. Got to Best Buy at 4am, froze for 2 hours while I watched a family enjoying a propane heater they were smart enough to bring with them (nice torture). 15 minutes before the store opened employees moved down the line with vouchers for certain door busters.. of course no vouchers for the 48X speed CDRW drive, 75GB HDD/256MB PC133 combo or the $40 dvd players, so I was only able to grab a voucher for the 150 CDR deal. The doors swing open and people moved in quite nicely. I grabbed the burner first and then headed to the PC dept to snag a 75GB HDD/256MB PC133 combo.. got it and headed to the DVD players on the other side of the store, grabbed it and then realized the guy in the PC debt handed me an 80GB drive and not the 75GB for the combo deal. I rushed back and was able to get his attention, thereby having him hand me one of the last 2 remaining 75gb drives (cutting it close). Then I remembered I hadn't used my voucher for the 150 CDRs, so I went back over to where I had picked up the CDRW drive, showed the employee my voucher and the sh1th0lio employee immediately crumpled it up, threw it over his shoulder and said "this voucher has already been used". I was like WTF?!?! I tell him I hadn't used it yet and then the prick argued I picked it off the floor, so I showed him the card they had handed the people on line.. I was #47. I said I had gotten the voucher on line and would appreciate he 'award' me the last thing I had waited so long for. Some deragatory words were projected by the employee, so I demanded to see his manager. The nitwad said "sir, I am the manager", so I demanded to see the person above him. he said "I watched you pick up a used voucher on the floor". What the hell? I hadn't bent down for anything. He started to ignore me. I said "look buddy.. I waited 2 hours for this crap.. you have a pallet of like 500 of these CDR packs". He cuts me off and said "GET OUT OF MY STORE!". I said "I DON'T THINK SO". In a huff, I went to the front of the store and luckily the general manager was standing there. I explained the situation, he motioned to follow him and he goes right in the room, grabs me two packs of CDRs and tells that dumb@$$ the card I showed him with my line placement outside should have been enough proof. He told him to treat HIS customers better. That's the first time a general manager has helped me like that. I appreciate it. Finally I had everything I needed and jumped on the master checkout line, which filtered out to 8 available registers when you reach a certain point. I waited no more than 15 minutes to check out and leave the store. I guess that one employee left his common sense at the dinner table yesterday. Hope others were treated more nicely.
