Hard drive deal this, hard drive deal that, every Anandtech member must have 10 hard drives each!! I wonder how many gbs will never get used? .... because you certainly don't have time to fill up your new hard drive when your over here at Anandtech looking for more hard drives.

What the freak happend to that outpost.com thread regarding the Sony DRU500a?

I am pissed off, never doing business with Outpost.com again. They are the most rude people imaginable.

They had the nerve to backorder my order, and not even send me an email telling me. I call up, and they say "I'm sorry, it is backordered."

I say, "what do you mean 'backordered,' it said "in stock, ships same day" when I placed my order."

"I'm sorry, there is nothing we can do."
"Well, you can get me the drive as promised. If your site says in stock, I expect it to be in stock."
"It says call for availability."
"That's not what it said when I placed my order last night!"
"Sir, I can't vouch for what it said last night."
"Umm, I'm not crazy, that is what it said when I placed my order."
"Our web site is not updated in real time."
"How is it my fault that your web site is not updated in real time?"
"There is nothing we can do, your drive is backordered."
"At the very least you should upgrade my shipping to overnight delivery."

Received PNY video card rebate just over 4 weeks after sent in


Made my second and last order from googlear. Had some questions and received form letter that said check the online help. Made 2-day air order that will take 6 calender days to arrive. Looks lik its time to switch to Newegg.

What's with compgeeks and their uber-slow shipping? I ordered something that was in stock last MONDAY, and it didn't even ship till FRIDAY! I kind of needed that thing, geeks. And now it doesn't even show a delivery date until Thursday of THIS week! What the heck? Come on, I can order something from buy.com and have it here the next day without even paying for extra shipping. Weak.

the 120gb HD I ordered from OfficeMax was supposed to be a 2MB cache model, but in the box it says the drive is an 8mb Cache SE model.

Half.com sucks. A bunch of students from my school ordered some used textbooks; 7 of them used the $15 off $50 coupon (I was one of them), and 4 didn't. Well guess what? All 7 items magically went out of stock, and the system won't let us reuse the coupon. BLEH :|

Had to RMA my Gainward TI-4400 xp (vivo) it gave in and started with the yellow checkerboard a bunch of other people had at the same time when i bought it.
good:
Newegg rma'd it no problem, sent me a replacement pretty fast, very simple,
the bad:
the new card is only a ti-4400 dt, (video out only) so no more video capture for me,
they dont even carry the gainward ti44000 xpgs model anymore.

I am crossing my fingers newegg is really as good as they say and will find an equivelent card.

I purchased a Dlink DI-604 router from OfficeDepot.com, the nearest OD B&M is 75 miles away It didn't work. After talking to D-link tech support for about an hour total trying to get it to work, he said I would have to send it back. Dlink has you call a TOLL number. I was on hold for 90 minutes! What a waste of time and money. What a load of BS. After printing out the RMA agreement I would have to fax it, or scan it into my computer and email it back to them. After that it will take 2 weeks to get the product to me. I would have to pay the return shipping costs. I said forget it, I'm cutting my costs while I'm still ahead.

I will not buy a Dlink product again. Their customer service absolutly sucks big time. But I suppose that is to make you give up. Fine they win, but the time spent doing what they wanted me to do will be better spent bad-mouthing their product and customer service. To bad OD didn't have a B&M in town, I would have just returned it their and gotten my money back.

Dlink sucks.

My dad types a lot so one day his hands and fingers were feeling sore. He heard about the "natural keybaord" that is a keyboard cut in half for those who dont know. Anyways, being a regular smart shopper I was compelled to buy a natural keyboard on the net instead of going to my local Staples and shelling out a ton load of dope. Well my dad needed the keyboard badly, so we ended up going to Staples. Now here is the bad part. The price of the same keyboard on the net is appoximately ~$12 cheaper included shipping. At the store it was just $40. Ridicious! Outrageous! What such Corporate greeD!!!! I am so angry at this so called sell when it actually is blatant robbery of hard earned money from middle class Americans. Coming to Anandtech is my personal way of fighting corporate greed.
sorry for my rant, had to let the steam go!

This is an FYI .......

I have been looking for a reputable store to possibly purchase a Giga-byte Maya II 9700 Pro as NewEgg has none nor any other dealer I have traded with.

Found it for $322 at <myaopen.com> which has a reasonable reseller rating. The price is in line with others for the retail box. The site does not say oem or retail so I called them. After much hee-hawing I finally got them to confirm this was an oem board only. They have no retail box.

Not saying not to do business with them or anything, just letting you know what you get for your money in case you were going to pull the trigger without asking first.

Resellerratings shows that returns without a restock fee for any reason is not their strong point.


Caveat Emptor and always ask FIRST>

FYI:::NEXTEL CUSTOMER SERVICE(CS)

Nextel has some of the best cellular service I have ever used(not to mention the two way radio feature). However, their CS is not worth one dollar. When I moved from Chi town to Cali I needed a new number. My initial call to obtain a new number went smoothly. But 8 weeks (yes I said 8 weeks) and approx 15-20 phone calls to CS later I was still without a new number. Everytime I called I got the same thing from CS...."I'm sorry sir that database/system is down please call back in 2-3 hrs". I cancelled the 57 business phones I had with them. If they treat a business this poorly I can only imagine how poorly Joe Cosumer is treated. :disgust:

Has anyone got their rebate from buslink? I haven't and this lead me to believe they are rebate scam. So anyone who's looking for rebate deal plz avoid any rebate from buslink. They don't care and they don't stand behind it. When you call their rebate center, all you get is an answering machine and this is all day long! What can you do? not much eh, just let this be a learning lesson. Also, avoid digital research, as they never send me my rebate either... they still pop up once in awhile as CDRW burner hot deals. this is one reason i don't like rebate, you will get burned occasionally... risky.
