I had the same thing happen to me today for a Planar monitor. Free shipping and 15% off is great, if your item actually ships and doesn't get cancelled. I ordered on the 25th, and I don't get a delay notice until the 28th (today), after the deals I used to order the monitor have expired. I couldn't cancel the order and buy another monitor, because of the amount of money I WOULDN'T save now.

FWIW, I didn't even use a stackable coupon or other discount.

If they'd given me the notice up front, I could have made other arrangements. Now, I'm stuck playing The Dell Game: Cash Hostage.

Update: It turns out that the day they delayed my delivery (2/28), they actually shipped the monitor, and it's on a truck to me today (3/3). In fairness to Dell, I can't gripe about the delay notice, but it's all just odd.

I just scored an amazing deal on a network printer today. I've been looking around for prices on the Minolta MagicColor 2300DL laser printer. Most places had it for $799, a few had it for $750, which was just a little too much for me.

So I stumbled into OfficeMax today, and lo and behold they have my printer there, WITH A $200 INSTANT REBATE ON IT!!!!! The rebate ended today (sorry) and wasn't in their ad, but in there special "in store flier". Unfortunately, they were out of stock. But another OfficeMax about 60 miles away had one in stock and I had them hold it for me.

Turns out, the instant rebate didn't apply at that officemax (must have been a regional thing) but since I had the flier from the other store, they gave it to me for $599!

THEN, the cashier lets me know there's a rebate on the thing. On top of the great deal, I get to send away for a $100 officemax gift card! SMOKIN!

Brag and Moan. Got a padded bag from AMD in my mailbox thanking for participating in the AMD event. The self-seal flap was open, mabye never sealed? Inside was an AMD cap and one package of AMD mints. Did a t-shirt get lost? Anyone else get this same pkg? I really should not complain since I won a 2400+ CPU at the event, but WTF?

Well I ordered the Western Digital 60gb drive and cdr on Sunday. Was supposed to be delivered a few days ago but wasn't. I called a couple of times inquiring where it was at. Yesterday after no drive still I called the warehouse and they said it was probably lost and would have my order to me today. Well today I got that order delivered from the guy that normally delivers stuff and then 4hrs later I get another knock at the door and it's some other carrier I've never seen or heard of before and had my missing order. So in all, I got 2 60gb harddrives and 2 spindles of cdr's. NICE!

I got the same package yesterday. No t-shirt, just cap & mints.

I didn't get a cap or t-shirt or mints :|

They sent me a chip that doesn't fit in my mobo that says "Athlon 64" though.....

my cc company nothing wrong with the card told staples this and the run it again.tell me to call them back in an hour because verification is slow today. call 1 hr later verification ok will recieve my order on
3/12. Checked website on 3/11 my order said 'Item not available' Called them again this b!tch told me
the they are out of stock and wouldn't get any more 'cause it's a discontinued item. spoke to the
manager and was told nothing he can do. The coupon is now expired and I don't have my sony.
I told them to kiss my azz and I hope he gets hemorrhoids and hung up. this was my first time ordering and my last . Cancelled my account.

Ebuyer UK now have a US office.....their prices I have found to be very good....their customer service I have found to be THE WORST I have EVER encountered......plus they have their own OEM brand of hard drives that have like a 50% or greater fail rate!

If you order and it comes on time then u are okay, if something goes wrong....expect it either never to be solved or it to take ages.

I am soooo mad!!! CUSA has the PNY 4200ti deal for $79. I check online before I left work to see if any Manhattan stores had it in stock. They both stated they did. So I hike up to the 37th street store and wait in line for 20 minutes (a line of only me btw) only to be told they have no more in stock. GRRRR!!! I ask them to call the 57th street store, the only other store in Manhattan and it was stated online that they are in stock. The CSR comes back after getting off the phone and states that there are 7 more in stock there. "good" I say, "please tell them to hold me one".

So I jump in a cab up to 57th and again wait by myself over near the video cards. I asked for help 3 times yet still waited for 30 minutes. Finally someone comes over and I tell them of my ordeal. He states that he doesn't think they have 7 more and doesn't see any more in stock. He checks te computer and shows me that they had 2 but someone came in a while ago and bought the last 2. DOUBLE GRRR!!!

2 hours 2 cabs and 1 angry customer with nothing to show for it. I am so pissed at CUSA for their miscommunication, bad service and incompetance. I will never shop there again. The bad thing is that I didnt even want a 4200, it was just a inbetween until I order a new Dell with a 9700. What a waste of time this was. No wonder why I never shop retail stores. :disgust:

Brag: My 9500 i bought for $163 is cruising along nicely as a 9700 (360/300)

Well, last Friday I think, Dell had was giving 20% pf everything! The windown for this deal was very small and I seemed to have lucked out. I got the logitech Z680's for $251.00 shipped priority overnite for FREE!! I got the speakers 10am on Monday morning...Now I'm gonna keep my eye on that 9700 pro and see if i can snag that cheap!!

Also, gonna sell my brand new Z560's on EBAY...Wonder what I can get? Its the shipping that kills on these things though, I can't offer free shipping like DELL..Oh well...

I recently ordered a few refurbished products from Amazon. I have done this many times before with no problem. This time, there was a part missing. There was no description other than the original model # and "refurbished" on their site. No listing of parts not included. I called, and they said that they would ship another as they could not ship just the part. After receiving the new one, I called back since it was still missing. They said they would research and call back. They emailed me and included their refurbished policy, which states only that the item is "not new". When I threatened legal action, they claimed that I could return it, and if they determine it is their fault (which they obviously don't think it is), then they would refund, otherwise they would refund minus all shipping charges.

POINT: If you plan on buying a refurbished item from Amazon.com, take a chance on all original parts being included.

Wouldn't you know that right after the $79 deal on PNY Ti4200 video cards is over my 6month old PNY Ti4200 decides to fry itself. Now I'm sitting here without a video card for the machine I'm building (stole its card so that I could get my primary system working again) while I wait for PNY to call me back so that I can start the RMA process. I just hope I have better luck getting a call back than some people I've read about in the last couple of hours (weeks to get called back, months to get a working card back from PNY). I hope everyone who bought one of these cards in the last couple of weeks doesn't experience my "hot" deal...

...sigh...

OK, best Buy question for you all... feel free to smack me if this is the wrong place to post it.

Saturday, I bought a creative nomad ZEN MP# player at my local best buy (300 - 10% = $270).

Today, the first day i'e really listened to it for any length of time, I noticet that there was a hardware problem (headphone jack was messed up). I returned it, they were out of stock, and was told I'd have to wait until another one came in (next week). So now I have no MP3 player and they have my $$$.

A friend, who used to work as an assistant mgr at a Meijer, said that at most retail stores, if the item is not in stock, they'll replace it with the next better model, but you have to ask, they won't volunter the info.

So, the question is, have any of you ever heard of this policy? Does it work at Best Buy? I'm pretty bummed that I don't get to keep my MP3 player for a road trip this weekend, and if they'll upgrade it, I'll go for the deal. Only question is, what's an upgrade (Next best model?)
