For winter games I'm sure Canada would take it, there is a ridiculous amount of perfect land here that could be used. It's too hot if you go south, heck even in Russia they had issues where it was too warm on some days and the snow was melting and they kept having to create more snow.
Make an Olympic village in like Northern Ontario or in the prairies or something. A place where it's pretty much guaranteed to be cold enough.
we need the excuse to build out our public transport, so I'm all for this.

I meant to post this a few days ago its from CNN, a reporter was carrying the Olympic Torch. She had minimum 6 armed security guys surrounding her and the people at the news desk said she normally covers conflict zones this should be a nice vacation for her. Did CNN assign a reporter that has experience in dangerous places by accident?

BTW: Where the hell are the fans? Every event I've watched the stands are completely empty. NBC has mic'ed up the family sections to make it sound like there are a lot of fans, but looking at the stand there is no one there.
According to reports yesterday, security couldn't process people quick enough so people missed entire events.
I think I heard a week ago or more that a private security firm got fired in Brazil. So, they're probably short on staff -- funny considering that the country's in a massive recession.
