my grandfather and mother have the gluten disease whatever its called, and my mom loves pretzels, i surprised her with a bag of gluten free pretzels the bag was $9 at publix, its ridiculous, everything gluten free is incredibly expensive.
Yeah, the stuff is crazy expensive. Up here if you are medically diagnosed as Celiac and therefore need to eat a very strict gluten-free diet, you are eligible for a tax credit due to the fact gluten-free products are far more expensive and because you technically need them to live (dubious, since you could just eat meat, potatoes, and vegetables like most normal humans, but whatever). I think it is something like a 65% tax credit on your grocery bills.
Anyway, not sure how it works in The United States of America, but worth looking into if they have not already. If I was actually Celiac, I would be all over that.
