I got stuck filling in at work this morning and didn't have time for breakfast, so I grabbed some leftovers and brought them in.

I'm eating a cheeseburger and a cupcake. My co-workers are all like "WTF is wrong with you? Who eats a cheeseburger or a cupcake for breakfast???"

I look over, and the guy at the desk next to me is eating a Jimmy Dean sausage sandwich with cheese and a muffin.

How is one accepted and the other not??? WTF?

Don't your co-workers have anything better to do? Why do they care about your breakfast?

Cheeseburger sounds good to me. I hate going into a fast food restaurant in the morning and they still have the breakfast menu going.

I made my own though One a week I'll take 3-4 lbs of ground beef, mix in some eggs, onions, worcestershire, salt, pepper, and parsley, and fry up a dozen or so burgers and put them on a plate so the kids/wife have something to eat when they get home. We then eat the left overs for snacks over the next few days.

My daughter says I should open a restaurant. Her friends say my burgers are the best they've ever had :$ Little wenches at 10/12 of them yesterday.

I guess my point is, one guy was eating exactly the same thing I was eating, only his sandwich used pork instead of beef.

It's like saying
"I'm eating cake for breakfast!"
"You can't have all that sugar and frosting for breakfast! Now get over here and eat these pancakes covered in syrup!"

I never understood why certain foods are "breakfast foods." What about them makes them so appropriate for breakfast other than some arbitrary designation by society?

Probably tradition who's original meaning is lost to time.

Your cheeseburger and cupcake were probably healthier that that Jimmy Dean sausage thing.

I've gotten that too with my eating habits - I've had pancakes for lunch already, or I constantly hear about it at work because I eat nearly the same thing for lunch almost every day.

It's also interesting how that sort of thing, "You're eating the wrong food for breakfast!" is considered to be following a normal tradition, but always needing to start walking out a doorway left-foot-first, that's some kind of obsessive disorder.

Traditions are just those obsessive-compulsive behaviors of which the majority approves.

oh... and its been scientifically proven the best breakfast is leftover country fried steak eaten cold from the fridge as you're walking out the door.

Breakfast food is the worst. I'll eat pancakes, french toast and waffles or oatmeal or cold cereal. but id rather just have regular food. cant stand eggs either which seems to be the breakfast staple. :barf:
