Just finished watching all 8 episodes of the first part of season 5. OMG the train robbery one was AMAZING. AMC On Demand through Dish is how I watched them. Cant wait till Aug 11th.
The train robbery episode (it's called Dead Freight) is amazing. The episodes that follow it are increasingly intense. To me, because of the show's self-contained arc (as Vince Gilligan puts it, seeing Mr. Chips become Scarface), it gets more and more compelling over time. I can't wait for the final eight - it seems clear that (unlike other serialized shows of this caliber, like the Sopranos or the Wire) these will be the show's most interesting and action packed episodes.
I want Skyler and a big white plastic barrel to become acquainted. I am assuming that the flash forward of episode 501 will be revealed. The part where Walt is spelling out 52 with his bacon at Dennys.
Amen! Her "annoying behavior" is completely reasonable, if you take a step back and look at the circumstances from her perspective, considering what she actually knows about the situation.I don't agree with the Skyler hate. She is an interesting character and the dynamic between her and Walt creates some interesting tension. Morally she does not deserve to die, even if she can be annoying sometimes. Yes, I'm sure the final episode will include the M60 that Walt was buying in 501, probably in some kind of final standoff between him and Hank. We shall see . . .

I guess everyone who feels she's so annoying expected her to fully support Walt even though he was lying to her for so long? *shrug*

This. 100%I don't agree. Her behavior is completely unreasonable for a mother with a handicapped son and a baby daughter. It's not her failure to support Walt that's annoying, it's her refusal to pick a side. She sort of in with Walt and sort of apart. Sort of supportive of the business and sort of aloof. Sort of protective of the family and still putting them in harms way. She's smugly self-satisfied in being so much better than Walt and in some ways so much worse. She looks down on Marie's kleptomania while being a much bigger criminal. She's the only character in the show whose motivations are not clear. It's like the writers were never given a direction for the character and every episode she's somebody different. And every one of them is a whiny bitch.
There was only one moment in the entire five season run when I liked Skylar. When she tricked Bogdan into selling the car wash it looked like she had finally turned the corner and gone all-in on Walt's life of crime. But nope, she went back to being whiny, smug, wishy-washy and pretty much useless.
She was annoying as hell right from the beginning, though. Before there was any crime going on.
