This last episode was weak. Far too much overacting. And Jesse opening unlocking handcuffs with a paper clip? Oh brother...

Dollar store handcuffs don't count.

Common handcuff design is actually incredibly simple. I have a set of recent Charlotte, NC sheriff's department standard issue cuffs, and they're super easy to pick with your hands in front of you. Behind the back is a lot trickier.

There are some much more advanced cuffs out there of course, have been for decades, but they're not commonly used outside of fugitive transport. In fact, your average bounty hunter has better cuffs than any beat officer. Haven't seen them personally, but I hear the US Marshal service upgraded about 10 years back to a really nice standard.

I rolled my eyes a little... it's not as if they had previously established that Jesse had knowledge of lockpicking (unless I'm forgetting it)

Well he'd been there for months with nothing else to do, seems plausible to me he'd have the opportunity to figure it out

What do we think Robert Forster was asking about at the beginning while talking on the phone? "How thick is it? This is mild steel? No, this would be cash." It may not matter since he then takes Walt to New Hampshire, but this show doesn't usually leave any loose ends.

Just the one involving the man in your avatar.....! I only watch each episode once so it isn't like I am scanning hard for holes or loose ends, but Gus stands out.

Unlocking handcuffs isn't nearly as difficult as picking a real lock.

That was intentionally left ambiguous so you can speculate about his past. Like the briefcase in Pulp Fiction.

I hope they explain it in he Saul Goodman spin off though, I don't like speculating.

Wow.... it's official. Todd is now the most evil Breaking Bad character ever. Even Gus and those Mexican drug cartel guys weren't that cold.

Killing a busload of immigrants/using an ax to kill people isn't as cold as
an unexpected gunshot to the back of the head
?

Que?

Most of those people weren't innocents, and the cartel folks didn't make their friends watch them die.

You can double lock a set of cuffs so they can't be made any tighter. Doing that is common practice and makes cuffs much harder to pick, especially behind the back.

Todd is doing what's needed. I find it hard not to like him. Jesse is just sad. He has a hard time thinking the same way as Walt, so planning ahead is not his strong skill. If he's stupid enough to try and escape while holding a picture of Andrea and Brock...seriously dude, what did you think they were gonna do. They didn't give you that picture to be nice.

Now we might have a clue about the final use of Walt's ricin. The great and powerful Heisenberg can't let that sort of slight to his honor go unpunished. He's going to take out Elliott and Gretchen Schwartz before the showdown with the Aryans.

That would make sense, though God knows how he could get anywhere near them.

Why is that? He knows where they live and has been in their home already lol

I know that, but he is also Public Enemy No. 1, and Gretchen, in particular, has seen how angry he can get (I believe it was Season 2 when he met with her in a diner in a discussion that ended with "Gretchen, fuck you!"). If they see him they will call the police. I can't imagine them sitting down to a drink or a meal with Walt.

You act like, if he is going after them he is going to be nice in some way? Makes no sense. Him being public enemy no 1 doesn't mean much either. With hair and full facial hair he looks a lot different and people in general don't pay much attention. The bar scene in the last episode is a perfect example.
