He exchanged gun fire with the guy to stop him. I think that is pretty brave. Who knows what else could have happened if he got away.

You're pretending things are being celebrated that aren't. This good guy with a gun, an AR15, stopped this guy from killing more and getting away. Many people still died, sadly. But the silver lining is that a good guy with a gun was able to stop the body count from climbing higher.

To be correct, he did not stop a mass murderer, he intervened in a mass murder.

Well thats exactly the same thing police do.
Police cant stop crime. They just intervene and then clean up the mess afterwards.
To prevent crime, you need to increase education and employment.

Your assertion here requires something that didn't happen. The shooter didn't stop after the exchange. He wasn't neutralized. It seems more likely the good guy with the pick up who followed the shooter causing him to run off the road in his panic and thus taking his own life prevented more.

theres no silver lining, people died due to a love affiar with violence, using highly effectve tools designed for one purpose, shooting clay pigeons of course.

The silver lining is that it's in an area where people voted to live by the gun or die by it. They knew what they signed up for.

We don't know that at all. It certainly appears that he went into that church to kill a few specific people, which he did. What reason do we have to think he would have hurt any other people? The 'good guy with a gun' is called a vigilante. He hunted down another human to execute him with out any due process. What if he had been wrong about what happened? What if he had chased the wrong person? We have a professional police force that is trained to handle this sort of situation. He should have let them handle it.

Did you watch the three minute video I posted? It explains all of it. The guy shot the murderer.

He killed 26 specific people?

The guy witnessed it all and acted. Exactly what self defense (and defense of third party) laws allow for.

That's a great story. Shooter being maybe shot by another dude totally makes up for the fact that he killed 26 people.

No. It seems that he went in to kill specific people, and killed a bunch others for reasons we will never know because someone murdered him.

No they do not allow for that. He was not acting in defense of himself or others. He murdered him. He chased him down and killed him for revenge. If he had shot him while he was still in the church I would agree with you, but he had to go get his gun, and chase him down the road to kill him after all the shooting was over, and all we have for a reason is 'maybe he would have gotten away' and 'maybe he would have killed more people at some later time or date'.
