Could my good guess have had something, could it have had just a little bit to do with the fact that a certain religion and culture has a propensity for committing terrorist acts and seeking martyrdom or could my guess have just been pure unadulterated racism? In reality, there's a huge majority of peaceful members of both camps who wish for nothing but a peaceful life for everyone.

As an atheist, I'm not a particularly big fan of Christianity either, and I don't deny what you said. However, other than occasional abortion clinic shootings and bombings, for the most part the Christians don't go around engaging in Jihad. Is there any actual evidence that this was religiously motivated? The fact that he was a muslim is NOT evidence that his crimes were motivated by his religion. I won't be at all surprised if we do find a religious motivation, but I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of blaming his religion for this without some evidence.
