That is not true at all. Examples

1. Democrats support socialized medicine, Republicans do not
2. Democrats support global warming mitigation, Republicans do not
3. Democrats support gay marriage, Republicans do not
4. Democrats support abortion rights, Republicans do not
5. Democrats should not support military adventures, Republicans do
6. Democrats should not support free trade, Republicans do
7. Democrats support tight banking regulation, Republicans do not
8. Democrats support unions, Republicans do not
9. Democrats support higher taxes on the rich, Republicans do not
10. Democrats support meaningful raises in the minimum wage, Republicans do not
11. Democrats support a social safety net, Republicans do not
12. Democrats support science in the public schools, Republicans support theology instead

etc....

There are differences if you take the time to look....

#1 : Ronald Reagan (R) was the one that forced hospitals to provide service, insurance or not. This effectively socialized emergency care.

#2 : Tom Steyer (google it)

#3 : "I personally believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. But I also agree with most Americans, including Vice President Cheney and over 2,000 religious leaders of all different beliefs, that decisions about marriage should be left to the states as they always have been." - Senator Obama 2006

#4 : About 1/3 of democrats voted for the partial birth abortion ban of 2003.

#5 : Nice qualifier; Democrats supported all of the major military actions over the past 30 or so years. They started many of them too.

#6 : "I believe we have made a decision now that will permit us to create an economic order in the world that will promote more growth, more equality, better preservation of the environment, and a greater possibility of world peace. " - President Bill Clinton, after signing NAFTA in 1993

#7 : The Gramm-Leach-Biley act that repealed banking protections in place since 1933, passed in 1999 with 75% of democrats voting yea (97% of repubs voted yea). It became law under Clinton.

#8 : Chicken and egg argument. Pretty sure if unions backed republicans, they would support unions. All of these people are for sale.

#9 : Really, then why do hedge fund managers still only pay a 15% tax rate? Why are learjets and yachts still tax deductible? Why is the cap on social security tax only ~$117K? The real answer : Dems like to tax the middle class a lot. NEITHER PARTY HAS THE BALLS TO TAX THE RICH.

#10 : The bill that recently died on minimum wage - the sponsors wanted to raise min wage to $11.00/hr in 2 years, and make it go up every year based on CPI. If they did something reasonable like simply raise it to say $9/hr without all the future liability, it would pass. The only reason to write it the way they did - is so it wouldn't pass. Meanwhile they get to make the stupid public think they tried.

#11 : You mean safety nets like this ?
http://benswann.com/welfare-recipients-in-new-york-can-now-earn-more-than-teachers/

"...in 33 states, welfare recipients make more than they would at an $8 per hour job. In fact, in 12 of those states, welfare recipients make more than they would at a $12 per hour job."

Yeah okay, +1. You got them there.

#12 : Red herring, the vast majority of democrats and repubs are on the same page here :

Another Bush and we could use the word Dynasty.

Hilary, not so much, as she is only a Clinton by marriage.

Jeb at least seems to be brighter than W. He is not afraid of books like W was.

Books such as? You mean the one's used in the class room that are shifting us from a constitutional republic to something quasi socialist, aka, common core?

Time for Hillary.

No, just fuck no. How can her history make her even remotely electable?

I have two predictions and I'm probably correct on 1 out of two.

1. She won't even run

2. The American people will not elect her, even if she does run.

Desperate for a duh-version? Just fondling a right wing touchstone makes you feel better, huh?

I'll bet it does.

Can you explain what common core is? Do you know what it's goals are and how it plans to achieve those goals? What part of common core is socialist?

what the derp?

surely you aren't referring to the Texas school board attempts to re-write history as a conservative, anti-science utopia, right?

George HW Bush - war and recession
George W Bush - war and recession
Jeb Bush will probably surround himself with the same circle of advisors and the same friends and business interests such as big oil that surrounds his family. I think he will be a paper tiger in terms of candidate profile.

Of all the Bush dynasty, I think Jeb is the most effective leader of the bunch. Sadly though, I think you're right on this one. To understand Jeb, we have to understand his legacy in Florida. Many regard him as a good governor of Florida, but breaking him down, he's essentially going to do this:

1. He's definitely pro-environment. He was big on protecting the Florida Everglades, and he denied the oil companies the usage of drilling off the Florida coastline. Although to be fair, denying the oil companies usage of the Florida coastline was an economic decision. He basically saw what they were doing to the Texas and Louisiana coastlines and said, "Pfft, yeah right." The Gulf Coast of Florida accounts for hundreds of billions in our property value and GDP contribution, and he wasn't going to risk that over a few billion dollars.

2. He's big on education. He championed standardized testing (we called it the FCAT) and grading of schools/teachers in Florida. It's mainly because of him when I go and search for a house that it'll tell me the grade of the schools in that surrounding area. While I have no kids, it's kinda neat. To be fair though, there's criticism of this too...a lot of it.

3. He's a very effective disaster leader, or at least he can be.

4. He speaks Spanish and has a Latina wife. This pretty much tells you what his immigration policies are and how he'll view Cuba. Personally as a Floridian, ex-Cuban nationals need to get over it.

If it wasn't for the Bush legacy, Jeb might actually seem like a pretty decent president. But, he's a Bush. And what good have the Bush's done us in the last 25 years? While I now champion reviewing what candidates have done in their own backyards to form a more accurate presentation of what they'll be like as a president, I must admit I'm a little weary over having another Bush in office.

Let's tread carefully on this one.

Blah, blah, blah.... those are the differences as I see them. A bunch of point by point nonsense from a right winger is going to do nothing to alter my perception of reality.

Democrats at least say things that I agree with, Republicans don't.
