Sorry to hear.. Kinda going through something similar without the engagement part.. still care alot about each other but given our current circumstances right now, it wouldn't work out for atleast 3-4yrs while we're trying to start new careers (fresh college grads) quite far from each other. And I really want it to work out regardless..

This is very hard. He and I were engaged. We still love each other, but we know it won't work out. We decided to end it while we still liked/loved each other and not when we started to hate each other.

I'm sorry. That stinks. A female friend of mine had a similar thing happen to her. She and her fiance were getting married within a few months, but then he goes and tells her that he's gay. He had been for a long time, but he didn't know how to tell her. It dealt her a pretty huge emotional blow. Just don't rebound on some loser. Take it easy and you'll get over him eventually.

I really think that it depends on how much you put into the relationship. I've had breakups where I couldn't get out of bed, and I've had breakups that meant about as much to me as walking past someone on the street, it just depends, but in every case it's gotten better!
