The Packers can't improve until Brett steps aside and lets the new blood take some snaps from centre.

He obviously is past his prime and can't carry the team the way he used to do.

Sorry but you need to point fingers at the Packers' Defense first. They are absolutely atrocious. Farve isn't as great as he once was but no QB is going to win the way they give up points with the greatest of ease.

Just look at the number of incomplete passes and inteceptions he has thrown. You can't blame that on the defence.

You guys are in denial. He is finished and needs to get out of the way of the next generation.

If you swapped Brett Favre with Benrolisberger the Steelers would make the AFC title game for sure, maybe even the superbowl.

Packers just suck.

Hes past his prime, but hes still better than any of the Packs back-up QBs. Im disapointed in the Packs performance overall. The def sucks because they dont have Sharper, and the rest of their starters are getting injured left and right. Most of the early season interceptions were from misscomunication between the WR, and they keep running the ball through the middle, which is a bad idea since Green seems to suck this year and the line cant block worth sh!t.

Just a bad year. Maybe they will start to comunicate better later in the year. But hey, if they do bad this year, they get early round draft picks for next year

Favre could have 50 INT's by the midway point and the media would still praise him.

But you CAN blame it on a crappy offensive line and a lack of receivers. Dude needs somebody decent to throw the ball to, and some time to do it.

Put the Favre of today back in time on the Packer's Super Bowl team and they'd be just as good.

QB situation gets too much credit, and too much blame.

If you put Philip Rivers on the Steelers they'd do that. The best QB in San Diego is the backup.

Brett has talked so much about retiring that in his mind he is already on the porch sitting in his rocking chair. He doesn't have the drive or killer instinct that he had in his youth that made him great. His skills may be there, but the spirit is gone.

He played a good 4th quarter IMO, but it wasn't enough

His spirit is still there, his ability is still there, but when your receivers drop half your passes or let them be ripped out of your hands what can you do?

Gee... I guess you're right.

28/47 passing for 303 yards and 4 TDs with 1 interception.

And he almost carried them to a win tonight.

Care to amend your posts?

exactly. Plus, isn't he retiring after this season, anyway? GB could let a young qb in for some experience this year, instead of blowing half of next season, too.

For truth. Want to know why the Eagles haven't gotten a ring what with all the tries they've had in the past few years? Want to know why the Pats have three?

It's quite simple: The Patriot defensive line is fully *psychotic*. It's like a pack of feeding wolves out there. Tom Brady certainly helps out, but he's not the reason they took 3 of the last 4.

Quarterbacks can't carry teams period, with the *possible* exception of Joe Montana, and even he needed Jerry Rice as a bullseye to make it happen.

Jim Kelly couldn't do it for the Bills.
Steve McNair couldn't do it for the Titans.
Favre can't do it for the Packers.
McNabb can't do it for the Eagles.
Marino couldn't do it for the Dolphins.

Simple fact of nature: defense wins games. End of debate.

Was a great game. Especially since carolina's kicker got me a 1 point FF victory even though he missed 1 PAT. and yes, to stay on topic, favre kicked butt. I think he doesn't play well until he gets banged up.

hope is does well because I've got so many of his rookie cards. But he's terrible even when he had some of the best receivers around, he would throw the dumbest passes.

Favre is still the man.

Half of his interceptions come from when his stupid recievers *cough*fergusson*cough* bobble the ball or give it away.

Letting both of their starting guards leave in free agency w/o getting somebody decent was a horrible move.

And I'd like to know who these great recievers he's had through the years are....

So a guy that hasn't started any games in the NFL is better than Brees who is a Pro-Bowler last year and seems to be doing just fine this year?? LOL
