I've got Outlook setup to remind me every four months to go get one of the three...I stagger the three reports...

UM you guys did watch the video before replying right? Because you gave the website which is what is given in the very beginning of the video itself. My link isnt to other links you sign up to, just a video explaining a bit more of where to go (the link you gave) and numbers to all 3 major companies if you suspect fraud is involved so you can report it. A long with more info on your rights and what your entitled to.
I just thought I would post the video since it explains it a little more and videos are much more entertaining, yet this was too watching you come in here all high and mighty thinking I linked to some crappy pay thing when it is a video for the site you linked

Only slightly, which is why you don't want to request reports frequently.

Someone else can verify, but I don't believe you get "dropped" for checking your own credit...just like you don't get dropped when someone checks your credit before sending you a "you're already approved", unsolicited credit card/insurance offer.
You do get dropped if you apply for a card/loan/insurance/ect. and they run your credit.
At least that's my understanding of it.
