Brightest UV cold cathode?

Newegg only has 2 brands, was wondering if there's something better out there than the Vizo? I guess I'm after a black light one, I have a DFI Lanparty & will be adding UV sata cables in a few weeks. Don't the straight black light ones bring out the UV more than a colored UV light?

What you want is something called black light blue. The lamp itself appears completely black when off and when on glows a very deep purple and does not look bright at all. However things will glow VERY brightly in presence of this emission. If you have anything in your case vaguely fluorescent it will glow extremely bright as in "hurt your eyes to stare at it" bright! Those green DFI SATA cables and parts of their motherboards will glow extremely bright under this kind of light.

personally i like ACRyan CCFL's.

i dont think they make them anymore, but to my personal experience, they were brighter then sunbeams CCFL's,

Camera made things darker, but u get the idea.

The more important item then lights is the UV item.

You guys ask me why i am using dyes when i hate them...
Because that is a clear UV dye... and i use it to debug a leak when i cant find it.

so you can see its mostly dependent on the UV material which ur light is to shine on.

Are there any online stores in the US that sell Alaska products? I see they have orange UV SATA cables for sale. But all the Googling I'm doing is only turning up UK sources. From the pics I saw these look really really nice. I'm about to just order them from the UK in a few days if I can't find them in the states somewhere.

I'm also interested in this; I have the Logisys UV CCFLs in my case and they're rather underwhelming. I was going for "subtle" but it's more like "barely visible"

Seems to me that the only way you'd get any better than that would be a full on fluorescent tube, though. Not quite sure how you would wire that into a computer.

If you really want high output blacklight blue radiation and not have the hassle of inverters/ballasts for FL tubes you can look into 400nm LEDs. You MUST NOT over drive them or they will degrade very rapidly, however.
