Hey guys and gals. I plan on finally building a new machine after years and years of waiting due to life\marriage\kid. I want to make sure that what I build will have a chance of lasting for years like this build did as we all know the life of a married man is a broke one. Because of this I plan to go with Broadwell-E. I have been trying to keep up with the status on this chip but news has become really scarce. Typically when they release a new series they will also release a new chipset with it. Reading up online it sounds like they will be sticking with X99 but since that chipset is over a year old I have a strong gut feeling that at the very least they will put out a refreshed version of said chipset with more features. Does anyone have any updated information on the platform as a whole? Last I heard it was supposed to drop at the beginning of Q2 but that was back in January and all I was able to find was leaks of the prices of the cpu's coming.
When the time finally arrives im going to try to build a really nice gaming/work machine for under3k but we will see how it goes. Thank you for any help\assistance.
