Not yet for for me. But I would imagine it royally sucks to have it happen. So lets hear your stories on how it happened.

Almost everyone I know has broken bones, but I never have. Strange, and I'm the craziest one in the group.

I broke my collarbone in a car accident when I was 15. And it hurts like heck! Just a tip though, the day I broke mine, I also said I had never had a broken bone before, watch what you say, it can come back to haunt you.... :Q

Nope, not yet.

My 5 year old cousin broke her arm last week, though. Bad enough to require surgery.

Ouch.

<< You should ask chipbgt if you can borrow his wine press. >>

I would suggest wiping it down first, its kinda sticky.

I had my big toe popped out of socket when I slid into the gym wall, it got knocked down next to my foot....very disgusting.

edit- Thanks to Girlfriday for noticing the error in spelling...

Most of my fingers at one point in time or another. (Very active lifestyle) I broke my foot 4 years ago (work related). And now I can tear the cartilege behind my ribs at will to squeeze through small cave passages. Last time I checked, I was able to go through something 6½ inches high as long as I have about 18 inches of width. Takes about 20 minutes to go 6 feet but it gets you where you need to go. Any smaller at my hips and head are the points that get stuck. Did I mention that I have strange hobbies?

Big toe, right foot.

I was kicking at a ball with all my force and hit the concrete lip under the ball instead.

It's really funny NOW when I think back.

Left collar bone twice, left wrist once, and pinky metacarpal in my right hand once.

Not to mention 3 or 4 miscelaneous broken fingers and toes.

I was an active kid

Does your nose count?

I wish i had broke my ankle instead of just spraining it though. It has been a year and it still hurts occassionally.

When I was 12, I broke my thumb in a fight.
When I was 14, I broke my pinky in a hockey game
When I was 15, I broke my arm in a hockey game
When I was 16, I fractured something in my back when I got hit from behind into the boards in a hockey game.

I was so fscking lucky that night. I was able to walk off the ice myself, and had no permanent injury.

Nose doesn't count, it's cartilage.

I broke my left arm before I was eating solid food. 8 or 9 months old. Broke my left ankle a week before my senior year of high school playing ultimate. I've had 3 or 4 confirmed finger breaks, and probably plenty more that I just taped up. I'm suspicious about a few toes too, but never bothered to check them out.

I broke another guy's ankle once too. Playing soccer, both kicked the ball at once; my ankle was locked, his wasn't...Other way around and I'd have two bad ankles right now.

And don't even get me started on stitches.

broke my nose twice, my thumb, and three toes on my left foot.

I've already had one nose surgery and need another. My thumb still hurts and so do my toes.

Several years ago a woman came across the median on the freeway and drove into the drivers door of my sedan at road speed at roughly a 45 degree angle. Totaled a heavy sedan and nearly totaled me. The side of the car was driven in 18", frame buckled, all four tires burst from the side force etc. I was extruded out of the seat harness and ended up with my back against the left door with a foot pinned in the crushed right side. The bad part of that is that the sedan I was driving had the shift and brake in the middle between the seats and my bottom and privates took a beating. That hurt almost as bad as the broken bones. My left side was essentially driven in four to six inches. Left clavicle and scapula were both broken so the left arm was left flapping free. Several ribs broke off the sternum and went through the left lung -- narrowly missing the heart. The left hip and upper leg were crushed beyond salvage so I now have so much metal work in there that I set off the metal detectors at airports -- even though they use non-magnetic tantulum. I don't know the exact tally of broken bones but I had a dozen breaks give or take one or two. Went through a long rehab to learn to use the arm and leg again after the surgery. Everything works pretty well now, except that it is impossible to run. The left leg works for walking, but I simply can't make it run. If I have to really hurry, I can only do a sort of crab-like one legged hop -- hopping forward with the good right leg and scotching with the bad left one. And years afterwards, the shoulder still hurts quite often.
The woman that hit me was drunk and said she didn't see me. I believe that.

I've broken my wrist, my left arm, and my right arm. All was when I was young. Handstand, karate, and judo respectively. Wearing casts suck big time, I remember that. They're stinky from sweat. The only cool thing is getting everyone at school to sign it. By the third time, though, not much interest in signing it.

About 6 years ago on November 17th, 1994 i was electrically wiring a sign on a side of a building 5 stories up. The Ladder truck we used at the time had a temporary replacement bucket on it with nowhere to hook on my safety harness. Low and behold the cable which extended the aerial ladder snapped and the bucket flipped up and flipped me out. I fell into a spin 50 feet above the ground but somehow landed on the pavemant on my feet. I broke both ankles(multiple fractures), both my knees(same), my right hip and my pelvis(multiple fractures)also my left wrist.

After 2 years of rehabilitation and multiple operations i walk fine again. Although i have arthritis now which haunts me sometimes(well all the time actually). In time i will need my knees and hip replaced as i pretty much did those joints in.
