Bent a pin when removing processor and broke off when I tried to bend it back. Is there some sort of fix for this? I lost the pin. Anything else I can solder in its place?

A tiny piece of wire in the socket that you carefully drop the CPU onto to make contact, then hope like hell?

Odds are pretty good that the pin is a power pin - most pins on CPU's that I have seen are used to deliver power- in which case it will work just fine and you don't need to do anything. There's so many power pins that the incremental loss of losing one won't affect much of anything. It might have an tiny impact on overclocking, but beyond that it should work just fine.

I would look at the technical documentation on AMD's website and see if the pin is needed - or just try the part and see what happens.

If you need to repair the pin, I would highly recommend contacting AMD regarding the issue to see if it's covered under warranty or if you could pay to have it fixed. I wouldn't try fixing it yourself - there's a reasonable chance that you could destroy your motherboard by accident if you accidently short pins while trying to fix it.

JB weld? If you have good fine motor skills - you might be able to if it's along the outer edge of pins and you use a toothpick or something like it to get the epoxy in there.

I would not use JB weld as it is not conductive but I might try THIS If I realy needed to save it.
I have to say I don't have any personal experience with them just an option.

Try it without the pin and see if it still works. If it doesn't you can try soldering a piece of wire the thickness of a pin in its place. I assume the broken pin is on the outside edge? I found it easiest to remove the little plate and then solder the piece of wire in its place directly to the PCB of the CPU when I repaired a 2800+ with a missing pin. Or if you don't want to try I'll take the CPU off your hands

I would take it to a local jeweler and see if they could repair the pin they should have the equipment to do suck a tedious job those damn pins are so small and so close together that I think that would be your best bet....

Honestly I don't think an A64 3000+ is going to be worth what a jeweler would cost to repair it. Try some of the tips here, if it runs without it - great. Otherwise, time for an unplanned upgrade

I fixed it! Stripped a twisty tie, cut off a piece long enough to stick out of the socket a little bit. Put the cpu in and it worked! Haven't tested for stability, but seems to be okay.

if it is just a power or ground pin you probably are ok. if its one that sends data, well do that pin trick in socket.
