Magsafe is broken.
Is there like a common malfunction on these things? It's $60 to replace.

Until further notice, if something Apple breaks, take it to the Apple Store and see what they will do for you.

The fraying is a common problem. I've always taken care of my power adapter and it has never frayed. I owned both the L and T style power adapter.
