Actually, if the goal is understanding between the two parties, it often helps to speak the same language. In the case of one party being 10-14 and undersupervised/neglected by their parents, seeking attention by being hostile here, the more mature person responding in kind is often the only thing the young'un will understand. At least, that's why I've done a few of these back & forths. As an added bonus, some great quotes can come of it - see sig.
