I'm not seeing a $50 IR, so I'm guessing you're using a $50 of $250 coupon? If so, deal makes sense to me.


As a FYI, this is an INKJET printing device. So you will have to buy ink cartridges, and as we all know the ink carts. do have a very short life span comared to toner.


I might recommend this unit if you need a printer for basic printing at your desktop, in addition to faxing........

Not making sense to me. Its $250 minus $50 instant rebate and a $50 mail in rebate. So its $149, not $100, after rebates. And even if you have a dollars off coupon for instore, it would have to be a $200 or less coupon because they will consider the price after the instant rebate, i.e. $200. You say its $100 without a coupon. How do you figure that?

Staples fixed it up online. It's now $99.98 AR (199.98 - $50 coupon which is on item page - $50 rebate). Seems like a great buy.... but reading some stuff on random websites, looks like it might have some problems with XP. Anyone have personal experience with this machine and XP? Thanks

Not sure about this particular model but for some strange reason Brother has been the most anal/unwilling to produce XP drivers, and this is for products distributed in the last year even.

I have consistently seen one bad thing about this printer and that is that it has 4 cartridges (3 color, 1 black) and when one runs out, it doesn't let u print at all, even if u want to print B&W and one of your colors has run out... Then again, for $100......................

Anyone have this printer? How much is the cartridges? Someone said the cartridges have microchip inside that make it impossible for "Refill"? I am thinking of buying this. Looks good.
