J . . .I would prefer not to spend anything. . . .

If your complaint is true, you are already spending a fortune-in increased insurance rates, potential fines in your name that your brother may not have paid, a criminal record, etc. This is not a problem that you can solve by complaining on the internet or to your parents. Spend a little money and hire a competent local attorney NOW-it will cost you a lot less in the long term. If your brother pulled this kind of stuff on you and your parents back him I wouldn't be too concerned about their feelings, to put it mildly.

But frankly I have some doubts about the validity of this tale.

No clue but I have seen this exact thing gone through on one of those court shows (Judge Judy maybe?) where 1 sister was suing another sister for doing pretty much the same thing. It definitely can and does happen.

She was on Judge Judy suing over a DWI? I doubt it, as they are fingerprinted.

If the police grabbed his fingerprints then you can use that as proof of identity theft. As mentioned above you'll need to hire a lawyer because this is going to be a legal mess. If you don't do it soon you'll have a criminal record, higher insurance rates, etc. so better to do it now then later; unfortunately you'll be paying money either way.

Fingerprints =

A) You go in and they see the prints don't match you.

or

B) You made this shit up.

or

C) YOU'RE FUCKED.

Wow I wasnt expecting this many resonses. This happened along time ago. I just need a way to figure out how to prove it to my parents. It was already taken out of my name.

As for how he did it. All someone neeeds to do is give a name and dob if the picture that comes up on the cops computer looks like the person given then they can get away with it.

As for punching him in the face the cop that I originally told this to told me to take a baseball bat to the back of his head and to not stop till he stops moving. Cops here are funny.

So everyone knows he put the dwi In my name thats all settled but what he is now claiming is he never put the 2 speeding tickets in my name and he did since this happened a few years ago I need a way to prove it. (about the speeding tickets)

I'm not looking to prove it to the courts. They already took it out of my name I just need to prove it to my parents. (its a long story). I figured the original court documents would show how he got a speeding ticket t he night of the dwi and that would be profe enough. Along with his attorney info that I might be able to get

The more I think about this, the more I think this is complete bullshit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a DWI requires fingerprints, no? If that is the case, wrong identity is virtually impossible.

Its not bullshit. The court stuff is already taken care of luckile when it happened I found out about it and was able to take care of it with the courts. Now I just need to find proof to show my parents about it.

Its a long standing argument I want to place to rest.

So please this has nothing to do with the courts. It only has to do with my parents and proving it to them

Sorry I didnt make that more clear in the beginning.

If true I feel your pain. ID theft is common among family. These types of people rarely change their ways and worst of all, go for easy pickin from trusting people. Fucking sociopaths.

You'll most likely have to go to the court house and get the paper records of it and make copies. Or you could just hire a lawyer to take care of it for you.

Sounds like your ego is getting in your way. So what if your parents don't believe you. If it matters so much, just cut ties with your brother and be done with it.

OP conveniently choose not to address the part where people have already offered the perfect solution[fingerprint record]. If you're not BSing, there's your out... Whether it's in your name or not at this point does not change the fact that there should be fingerprint records on a DWI, go get that. Problem solved, unless you're the pathological liar.

Who cares? Tell them to run your record on their own expense and prove it was you.

Thats a good Idea ty. Will they still have the court papers you think do you know if they send them to a central location like with police records.

I still think you're full of shit. Oh well. No point wasting my time here anymore.

If you dont believe me then call your local sheriffs department and ask them what they do if someone says they dont have there licence on them. Ask them if they can look it up they should say yes unless its different where your from

Its already taken care of in the courts. That means all the fingerprints and mug shoots are already taken out of my name. I am looking to get records to prove it to my parents not the courts.

I had to clear some stuff up one time with court records being incorrect so I went to the court house, asked them what I was looking for and they sent me to a records building a few blocks away. Was able to pull the records, copy them and show them to a judge who quickly dismissed everything. Not the same situation as yours, but you should be able to get copies.

Maybe if I was crazy lol. Please I know this sounds unbelieveable but its true. Like I said to the other guy call your local sheriffs department and ask if they pulled over someone who didnt have there licence on them can they look it up they will tell you yes. The only way that I would know that is if I went through it.

What really gets me upset I went to court for my own speeding ticket 3 months ago and they didnt ask for ID or anything I could have easily done the same thing back to him. I wish I would have.
