I really liked the story driving the game and the humor. I'll probably rent it. It doesn't seem that it would have alot of replay value.

I liked the demo. Had a certain "Full Throttle" feel to it. Who's behind the game?

edit: Ah ha! I knew it. I've liked pretty much everything Tim Schafer has done. Grim Fandango remains in my top 5 games of all time.

I'm probably like 15% through this game.

It is a ton of fun IMO. It is very story driven and has a lot of dialog in it. I really like the dialog as well. I've had quite a few LOL parts, but I also do like Jack Black.

I think I've finished the first 6 or so missions as well as 1 of the side missions.

I had no clue this was kind of an open world game either.

So far I'm really digging it. I kind of hope uncharted 2 doesn't come today and comes tomorrow so I can spend more time w/Brutal Legends tonight, because if I get U2, this game may take a back seat.

Giant Bomb gave it a 3/5. Not great, sounds like a buy when it's $20 less to me.

I do like Tim Schafer, I don't think he's any sort of gaming god, but Psychonauts was fun.

I'll play this game eventually, but for now this is all I needed to know:

In a way, the single-player game--which, if you stick strictly to the story missions, can be knocked out in around four hours--almost feels like a lengthy tutorial for the multiplayer, which breaks the RTS element out onto its own.

I mostly played Uncharted 2 last night but I did play this for like 40 minutes. Experience is great. Story/cutscenes are awesome. Didn't get very much farther than the demo but enough to see how cool the world looks and to meet a few unique characters.

If mp isn't that fun, I could see myself trading this in fairly quick.

I'm not much of a metal music fan so I haven't even thought twice about downloading the demo. Well that and I think Jack Black is annoying. Looking forward to seeing more initial impression of the game though but looks like I may pass on this game anyway.

Totally agree, he's way too over the top for his own good. Love Tim Schafer, thought Psychonauts and Monkey Island were awesome, but I dunno how much Jack Black I can listen to in a 4-6 hours period, especially if he keeps saying the same thing over and over again.

I don't base my games on achievment points, and I'm not a real achievment whore,.. but are they pretty easy to get?
I found the demo fun and enjoying, but anymore it all needs to come in a nice deal with achievments coming fairly easy for me to keep playing.

I was thinking about getting this game and watched the IGN review of it which was good except for one thing, you can't jump. I found it odd to be a game this massive with interactions galore and yet you can't jump. If someone could tell me how this works with no jumping I would be grateful.

Not every character in every game has to travel around jumping like a rabbit hooked up to a caffeine IV

You can jump. But, it's called earthsmash, and it tends to destroy your surroundings and damage/knockdown your opponents

I've actually only gotten far enough in the game to meet Lars (less than an hour in or so) so I can't really say how not having a jump would actually affect anything.

i'm about 3 hours into the game and not jumping is not an issue.

This may actually make me buy this game. I hate jumping games.
