This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever encountered. I just had to reinstall Windows XP because it's a piece of crap and the /SYSTEM file got corrupted. I previously had a fully updated XP with SP2, so what follows makes no sense to me.
Whenever I try to install ANY driver, whether sound, video, TV turner, etc, Windows BSODs on me. Sometimes the devices work OK after the BSOD (the audigy did), usually not.
And the BEST thing is that after trying to install my TV tuner drivers and the resulting BSOD, Windows no longer sees my CD drives!
I've heard of driver problems with XP SP2, but this is just insane. And going without SP2 isn't really an option either, since MS will only be supporting SP2 soon.
I think I might just chuck my computer out the window rather than spending another three days installing XP again.
