BSOD @ Windows Startup fresh install

Not sure if anyone can help me out. Recently bought a Dell 760 off another user here. It arrived and I was aware I needed to install an OS when it arrived, but the OS was supplied [Dell OS Restore CDs].

Changed the Bios to boot to the CD-Rom first. Windows begins to install. When it goes to load windows for the first time I get a BSOD / Stop Error:

"If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed disk drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical Information:

STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF78D2524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)"

I've swapped HDDs, from my understanding this is the dell restore cd to this specific PC, but I may be mistaken. Not sure what else I can try physically to get this to work. Or if it could be the restore CD itself with the wrong hdd controllers? and just buy a copy of Windows instead?

Any help would be appreciated.

When the Dell splash screen shows in the screen during the boot process, press F2 to enter the BIOS (system setup). Expand the "Drives" section and go to the "SATA Operation" option. Change the option from "RAID Auto/AHCI" to "RAID Auto/ATA" then reboot and try the Windows installation again.

Might not need to reinstall - just try that ^^^^^ - Our computers at work did the same thing until the drive option was changed, then they booted with no problem.

If you want to use AHCI you can make a new XP install cd with the intel AHCI drivers embedded.

If you want to install winXP, you can try this. or maybe the Hardware problem...maybe you can use another vista or win7 disk for test.
