Having run out of SATA ports I purchased a SATA PCI card, installed it along with a new drive, and attempted to boot it.
Windows 7 didn't automatically install the drivers required, so in went the disc that came with the PCI SATA adaptor. None of the drivers worked, and in the end I tried to format the new drive through Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management, then the first BSOD occured.
I tried the same thing again, and it BSOD'd again. The next time it BSOD'd on startup. It now does this every time a hdd is plugged into the PCI SATA card (regardless of whether the hdd is formatted and working or not).
Any ideas on how to get the PCI SATA card working?
I've tried uninstalling the drivers through device manager but this hasn't helped.
