1. What YOUR PC will be used for.
Heavy web surfing using firefox with 20+ tabs open often containing flash content such as youtube, light gaming, some video work (mostly ConvertXtoDVD and xvid4psp).
2. What YOUR budget is.
$500 absolute tops (lower would be better).
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
U.S.A.
4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
n/a
5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
No preference.
6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
HDD, Optical, KB, Mouse, Monitor, graphics card, and I have a spare copy of Windows 7.
Basically all I need is a Case, PSU, RAM, CPU, and Motherbaord.
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
I'm open to overclocking.
8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?
1080p.
9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
asap.
X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?
No.
I am looking to build a new rig soon and I want the absolute best bang for the buck. I also dont upgrade/build very often so it needs to be usable performance wise for 5 years or so if possible.
PCPartPicker part list How does this look for an AMD Build?
Or would I get more bang for my buck from going with Intel?
Also Microcenter is not an option, but Fry's is if they have a good deal. Keep in mind though that I would have to pay tax and about $20 in gas.
I'm not above buying used either but I haven't seen many affordable 2500k/2600k, or ivy equivelent combos lately.
thanks
