Need input/help on choosing MOBO, GPU (was thinking Radeon 4770?), PSU, and monitor. Budget is like $700 under or over whatever really, I just want it to be as cheap as possible. It will be used for games and Photoshop. Games: BF2, Steam games, Oblivion, maybe some Fallout 3, some newer games that I haven't tried yet... I will also try some overclocking probably.

Thanks in advance!

Mobo=gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p
one of the best if not the best 775 socket mobo period

I have a Q9400 processor 2.66ghz. I have a foxconn mobo I had my processor in. I tried like hell for weeks to overclock my cpu all I could get was 2.9ghz stable in foxconn board. I thought I might have a cpu thats just not a good overclocker. I figured I'd try to get a different board. I read up and saw the ga-ep45-ud3p board was getting great reviews on overclocking. I bought one and had my processor up to 4.0ghz but it was not 100% stable. Right now I have it at 3.88ghz. I can not say enough good things about this board. Also crossfire capable. I was so impressed by this board that I will always consider gigabyte boards before any others. Sorry so long bored at work.

for under $700 do you need a monitor included? mobo above is good. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128358 $135 leaves you with $225 for a gpu unless you need a monitor too. I will assume you don't need a monitor. The best multi-card performance for that money is 2x HD4770, the best single cards for performance are GTX280 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130427 and HD4890 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814161276 performance prob favors nVidia a bit but it is older and I don't think quite as power-efficient.

Here's teh deal with the UD3 boards, its real simple: they are great if you are overclocking your quad to extremes like 525+fsb/most 775lga boards won't do even 500fsb with a quad, ...most. But here's the hangup... they may vary on coming out of sleep mode. Some may have no problem, some do. Mine didn't the first 3-4 times i tried it, the next i got a BSOD. This is all over the XS forums... there might be a fix but i'm not sure... I only use mine for gaming so its on or off... If you are not interested in getting a quad later on down the road then I'd suggest something that more suits your needs if you use sleep mode alot. Alot of the P45 boards have no problem getting a wolfdale to 500fsb with a little bit of help. Achieving high fsb with a quad stable is a sign of a strong motherboard. So, if that doesn't interest you, there are lots of other GREAT boards out there and by all means don't hesitate on asking about one you are looking at.

The UD3R is just as good; And if you aren't going to run Xfire, then get teh UD3R and save a few dollars 104$ after MIR
