Drop a line show your best budget OC records here. Budget means below $150 CPU lines. I'm building a Sempy 64 2800+/ Chaintech vnf3 rig next week when I receive all parts.

i got a 400mhz overclock on my comp.. sempron 64 2800+ from 1.6ghz to 2.0ghz really happy with the sempron 64... i will most likely get a 2.6ghz turion processor with the newark core to replace it as soon as summer come's or just upgrade to an X2 ang give my dad my old sempy...

it could be pushed pst 3 Ghz but voltage starts to get pretty high lol.

oc in sig. can't get pass 2.6, it will boot at even 2.8 but will always fail Prime95 after several hours.

with ambient temps around 24C. i get 29C idle and around 35 with load. with every single fan off i get about 40C idle and 50C load

CKXP damn 2.6+ is nice for xp-m. But your vcore is bit high side. You using H2O cooling right?

Nait Sirhc nice OC with such a budget CPU. You got any benches? What kinda level does it perform at cmpare to Venice 939 cores?

dexvx Dothan 1.6Ghz at 2.7Ghz heard Dotahn is pretty up there, what kinda benchmark do you get comparing to AMD line? I'm curious.

Dothan 1.7 IN LAPTOP @2.126 (+25%) all from the FSB using Clockgen. Makes a WORLD of difference, especially since the ram goes from 333 to 417.

all on air, i had a thermalright SI-97, and a YS-tech 90mm fan than ran like 3000+rpm, but i remember it was loud and that was about a year ago. 2.6ghz was just seeing how far i could push it. but i ran it on everyday basis at 215x12 i think @1.9-1.92v, now i have a 3200 newcastle s754 @2550mhz...that i only paid $110 for.

my 2.4C (was below 150 at the time 3-4 years ago) went to 3.6ghz max...with crashing. i still havent gotten a 3rd party cooler for it, so i run it at 2.9/3.0Ghz no voltage increase.

I got a Sempron 2800+ at 2.32 ghz on stock vcore, using the stock fan. On a VNF3-250 to boot!

720 mhz overclock for under $150, and that covered the CPU, motherboard, and cooling. Yeehaw.

That's about par for a good Malaysia chip. A friend of mine (was Nowhereman here on Anandtech forums... now nowhere to be found thanks to a permanent lifetime ban from here ) had one that would run for a few minutes at a time at 600MHz - a full 100% overclock, on his Abit BH6 and using a dual fan cooler from some defunct place in Florida (CoolerGeeks or something, sold HSFs that were standard heatsinks with extra fans bolted on, plus were first to market a sandwich cooler for Celerons). His "trick" was to toss the sucker into the freezer, HSF and all. After an hour or so, pop it into the motherboard, turn it on, pump FSB to 133MHz, reboot, enjoy for a few minutes.

Total CPU, HSF, motherboard, memory, case, PS = $315.

With stock HSF, easily runs prime95 300x9 or 2700MHz.
Also have a Opteron 146 in another identical system running 3GHz, but it cost $165.

144 @ 2.7? that's crazy overclock. Just received my Sempron 64 2800+. Running it at 300x8=2.4@1.4v currently, prime95 stable/ 2 hrs, OCCT/30min. Hoping to push higher soon.
Total: mb vnf3-250 (55), CPU 75 = $130.
