My job just went under, so I was able to pick-up a bare-bones 2.6 GHz P4 from the company. I think it only has 256 RAM, but I'm going to upgrade to 512.
Regardless, it's not a top of the line computer, so I'm not looking to upgrade to a top of the line graphic card. I'm looking to spend $150, at most, but would ideally like to spend around $100.
From the research I've done, it seems like the ATI Radeon 9600 is a decent card, but it's a few years old. The e-VGA GeForce 6600 seems to get positive reviews as well. I'm not a heavy gamer but am interested in picking up Doom 3 (realizing that I will not have a system capable of running the game at anything close to its top settings).
Any thoughts on the two cards listed above or alternate recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.
