Buffalo WLI-CB-G54HP v.s. WLI-CB-G54S

The former is listed as a "high power notebook adapter" and the latter as a vanilla 802.11G with "125* High Speed Mode? Wireless Technology". The Buffalo comparison chart isn't helpful either. The WLI-CB-G54HP also has a slightly higher price than the WLI-CB-G54S.

Ergo, if paired with the WBR2-G54S Router, which one would yield better performance?

I did not try it my self. Nevertheless, it seems that the High power has a stronger amplifier.

Better amplification is Not related to Standards.

I.e. even, when working with regular Wireless source the High power cards should be more sensitive and yield better results.

Log to this page and look at the third picture (second Graph).

You would see the typical behavior of 2.4 GHz signal. While at very short distance, the Mimo is yielding the fastest connection. High Power results in a much better distance coverage.

Why? Because Mimo is just a trick in using the ~40mW signal more efficiently, while the High Power provides an Actual Stronger Signal.

In General, you would get better result if the High Power is at the source. I.e the Access Point.
