Buffer Underrun Error? wtf?

On Ricoh 12/10/32. :|

It says something about both the CDROM and the CDRW connected to the same IDE bus or something everytime before I start to burn... I copied two CDs succesfully, and then I got this error when burning the third.

What Speed was the burning process at? You can try burning at a slower speed until you find the cause of the problem. Also, did you chose the option to copy the contents of the source CD to the HD first, and not select 'on the fly'.

also run a defrag on the HD, that helps keep the HD in order and quicker to read the data off of.

I was burning on 12x and I DID choose "on the fly". Is this the problem?

I think it's caused by heat.

you better leave it for about 5min. after burn something.

Make sure that you have a 12/10/32 Ricoh drive that actually does support JustLink.

The MP7125A supports JustLink. The MP7125 does not.

try moving one of the drives onto the other m/board ide channel so they don't share the same channel. also ensure DMA is enabled for both drives!

I tried burning without the 'on the fly', and when it was reading the CD it stopped on 57%, twice.

So I tried again with 'on the fly' and it got the buffer underrun error also on 57%. Maybe it's something with the original CD?

yeah go try different ide channels meaning try not having both drives on the same cable. make sure you set which one is master and slave right on each channel.

look in device manager under properties/settings for each drive & you'll se the DMA checkbox!
what reader are you using when trying to burn on the fly?

DMA was enabled in both of them, and I'm using LG x52.

I think that they are both on the second cable(not the harddisk one), the CDROM is master and the CDRW slave.

Usually a good idea to put the CD-RW and CD-ROM on separate IDE channels. If you only have 1 HDD and the 2 optical devices, it's best to give the CD-RW it's own channel to allow for bus overhead. Had this problem before and solved it by separating the optical devices.
