Do you work for this company or something? You only have 62 posts and at least half of them are this thread.

No I don't work for Bugbear.

But it been a long wait for a new racing\derby game from Bugbear. Flatout 2 got release in 2006. I spent 6 years racing Flatout 2 online, I'm ready for some new tracks and derbys.

Also Bugbear going without a publisher this time around, ya!! So Bugbear need some support from the Flatout community to help crowd fund Next Car Game. It looking good for Bugbear now thanks to early access on Steam. We should see final version of NCG get release just before Christmas or 1st quarter 2015.

When is the game coming out?[community.bugbeargames.com]

NCG is far from being finished at all. It doesn't even have all the content, actually, probably nobody even knows what the content will be. Just because it's playable and purchaseable it doesn't mean that it's finished.

This is correct. We're still lacking, to name a few of the features, multiplayer, game modes, tech tree, XP progression, tune-ups, music, career mode, etc. We're working hard on all those, but it'll take time. We're definitely not holding back on the release date out of spite. We'll tell you when we know ourselves. We were gunning for the end of the year release, but since we're currently focusing on overhauling the engine, we can't be sure we'll make it. So, we'd rather not give any promises now as we might have to let you down, and that would simply suck.

Once we get to the point where we start implementing the new features to the game, that's where it'll start to be interesting. That's when you'll get to try to break our game in earnest, as that's what helps us debug NCG to the max. But we're not there yet

I went ahead and grabbed it while it was a flash deal. I probably won't install it or mess with it until it is further along, but hoping it turns out good. Is the 2.0 version playable at all and what is it? Is that the new engine?

It's very playable, yeah. There should be some different tracks, game modes, vehicles, functional AI opponents, and so on. At least... I think. I haven't played for a couple months so I'm not sure what the current status is.

I take it you are referring to the v2.0 Sneak Peek demo playground that come with NCG. A playground to show off Bugbear new physic model. Ya it playable.

New derby mode with the sneak peek cannon? - video

"Is that the new engine?", the Sneak Peek demo does not get upgraded when new builds for NCG get release. NCG Build #5 that will get release this week, will have the new ROMU game engine overhaul and the new damage system.

Last Saturday we found out how to take the new LAN mode in new Build #5 online after the disappointment of not getting Tunngle to work Friday with new NCG LAN mod. ;D

For the details go here:

LAN over Internet WORKING!

LAN mode right now is bare bones, so there some issues and there lag between US and Euro players. So be sure to read the thread to see what you are in for if want to try Next Car Game online.

We did make history Saturday, we had a 12 player figure 8 race online.

Here video of 11 player race:

Also check this thread to see who is hosting:

Who hosting NCG and which LAN Bridger you using today?

If not, you are oddly obsessed with this game and keeping the thread on front page by bumping it with (generally irrelevant) news like "i found a cool video on youtube about NCG"...

I have been racing Flatout 1 and 2 online for 9 years now, after I got hooked on online racing with Bugbear's Flatout 1 back in 2005. So I guess you could say I'm obsessed. I had some great racing with good players online thanks to Flatout 1 and 2 and look forward to more with NCG.

Also, GRID 1 derby racing online was another great racing game online until Codemaster turned of the online server after only 3 years.

I was irrelevant to post about the Flatout community getting NCG online so we could get a taste of online racing and derbying with real players?

I do have selfish motive for trying to get the word out about Bugbear Next Car Game, I want the online to be packed with players for years to come, like we saw with Flatout 2:

Here the latest news on Empire Interactive:

Zoo Publishing Snags Empire Interactive Licenses

Zoo Publishing announced a deal to license, publish, and distribute the catalog of titles previously published and developed by, the now defunct, Empire Interactive, allowing it to re-release previous Empire titles, to port previously released games to new platforms, and to create a new gaming content from existing IPs.

Well Flatout 2 online server still working, there over 500 players online right now:

A taste of things to come:

Today we tested real deal online multiplayer with two new game modes, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. They need tweaking, sure, but they're here, and they work!
In addition, we now have road side spectator cameras so you can watch how the rest of the race proceeds.
All this makes the next build worth the wait, no?
Good times, good times \o/

Here pic of newest car being added to NCG:

It been a long wait since July for the next build, but BUILD #6 is now out. With real deal online multiplayer!!

Also Bugbear has decided on an official name for NCG: Wreckfest.

Go here for details on the new build:

Build #6 Live! Official Name Revealed, Multiplayer Introduced

( right click pic, select View image to size pic to browser )

Where Wreckfest really shines is online derbys with all that great eye candy going on! Will post a video in a couple days of the carnage online.

I tried out new new multiplayer and it's fun! This game really needs analog controller support though if it doesn't have it already. All I see is keyboard mappings and all on/all off just doesn't work for racing.

Wreckfest support pads and wheels. With new Build #6 there some new Advance controller settings:

For now you can't map a reset button. Bugbear disable resetting car unless you hit ESC and click reset car.

Big debate over Bugbear forum if resetting car should be allowed, here one the threads:

Reset is too forgiving / Fix and/or Alternative
