Went out to lunch today and heard the most hilarious ring tone I've ever heard. Some guy had a Nokia or some similar style phone with him and while he was eating his cell phone rang. But not like a normal cell phone. It was a custom ring tone, and it was just hilarious! It went something like this:

(sound of gong) "Death to them that answers this call who is not my owner, for I am Shanubus, the cell phone!"

I may hate hearing cell phones going off all over the place during lunch, but this has to be one time I actually enjoyed hearing someone's phone ring. I was laughing so hard I almost chocked on my food!

Well, ok. I might not have given a good enough description of it. Think of someone with a deep, evil sounding, mystical voice saying that. Kinda like the guy having some phycotic phantom or something inside his phone protecting it.

Back before I got my Nextel phone I have now, I had a older Nokia with like 30 custom ring tones. I got so tired of the phone scramble every time the phone rang that I went and switched mine to the William Tell Oveture. Talk about some funny looks when your phone rings.

I hate to admit it but my ringtone is the knightrider theme. No Hasselhoff screen savers though.

I expect that cellies will soon have 'personalities' where they speak to the owners in a manner that takes into account the caller, the personality of hte phone, and possibly other factors such as call frequency, or total call time. Shouldn't be too hard to do, assuming you got memory for the audio files.

I had the Super Mario theme as my ring tone for my Nokia...trying to figure out how to get it on my v70, but I just gave up on it.

If I could play wav's, I'd have Monty Python all up in that sh*t.

Can you guys imagine someone having a ringtone that was from Lord of the Rings or Star Wars? Now that would be hilarious.

Have the phone go: "One ring to rule them all. One ring to find them. One ring...." Your friend would be sitting nex to you going "What the hell is that??" and start looking around expecting Ring Wraiths and Goblins to start popping up everywhere.
