Yikes. There's a big enter key. Two of them, even.

Anyway, the ENB site does not have any green download arrows that I am aware of, but a squared-off little gray down-arrow-into-a-box icon.

Mod Organizer is pretty good, but SKSE-dependent mods end up needing direct installation anyway, so I went to Nexus Mod Manager, bugs and all. I may break down and use Wrye Bash, but I'm hoping to avoid that. It would be nice if MO had an apply button, to write out the loadout to the Skyrim dir, to remove the need for funky custom launching. NMM sets up the install so that launching the game w/o the manager is the same as w/ it.

Like SKSE stuff, ENB needs to be installed directly, though an ENB profile mod may or may not be usable from a manager.

No clue about HDD v. SSD and stuttering, as I put it on my SSD to begin with, but also can't get 60FPS anywhere in the game (my GPU is pegged at 100% all the time). No stuttering, though, at my reduced FPS.

When moving, your CPU is probably becoming more of a limit, and thus FPS drops.

Sidebar: I hope they get an engine that can handle ballistics, one of these days. Some mods make it acceptable, but it's been broken for over a decade, since their first use of Gamebryo.

was google ad services. ran a giant green download button like download.com or other similar download websites.

not that great of an engine. even when modded you can tell it is dx9 unless you would use a ton of big mods. arcania 4 although a medicre game is very good with graphics and sound. you can tell it is dx 10. looks much nicer than skyrim.

should i use skyrim hd installed directly or with the nexus mod manager.

really. so if i run from steam it is the same as running from nexus mod manager. does this count for skse.

do you know of any mods that get rid of the sneak hud. the rest of the hud does not matter to me but i need the cursor to pick up stuff so the regular hud options will not work.

Here goes (fortunately for us, I love headphones, so this is fun):

As you may remember from before, the difference between DACs is minimal. You're mostly paying for appearance and extra functionality (like equalizing, XLR balanced output). Those are not at all necessary, and the functionality can be replicated by free software, so it's typically not worth shelling out more than a hundred bucks for a DAC.

Amps, on the other hand, vary greatly. However, I can objectively say that the O2 amp is one of the best out there for the price and size. It is essentially 100% neutral, so any coloration of the music is from your headphones. If your main concern is an accurate reproduction of the music, then the O2 will serve you well.

Both the O2 and ODAC are good, but are beaten out in price point by the Schiit Magni and Modi, which will give you pretty much the exact same sound for $80 less overall. The only downside is that the Schiit Magni doesn't have a battery mode for travel usage (hardly a downside since both the Magni and O2 are large enough that portable usage is difficult). Plus, the Schiit Modi and Magni look pretty when stacked together since they are made match perfectly.

If you need to run SKSE (which you do), then you won't be using Steam to launch it, unless there's a custom exe launch option somewhere that I've missed.

On a related note, get the Skyrim distance overhaul (SDO), and sky falls and sky mills. The way they nearly seamlessly keep the terrain filled in, with no/minimal performance drop, is amazing, with Skyrim having all the hilly areas and mountainside views. With a sufficiently high grass fade distance, pop/fade in/out of terrain becomes so minor that you won't even notice it, unless you're specifically looking for it.

thinking of doing a clean install and then counting every mod. read about the sdo and sky falls and sky hills. but they said something about changing the objects so i was wondering if you trade close up quality for being able to see them farther away.

here are the mods i added recently

project parallax remastered
immersive hud
skyrim realistic texture overhaul mountain
ulo plus
footprints
realistic smoke and embers
imersive saturation boost
realistic sun and sunglare
hd enhanced terrain

the thing i was wondering is that project enb wants to use enb .221

could i use enb .245 since this is a newer version. there is a different version of realistic sun and sunglare that i could use for enb.245

runs newer files on the sun or something

Not that I've seen, but there may be compatibility issues with mods that affect some of the same objects, so it may cause issues with mods that improve the quality of those items. The idea behind it is to make it look like objects stay visible and at high LOD, even when they aren't, partly by baking them in to distant terrain.

I'm already trying to backtrack right now, so no ENB, until I am CTD-free and w/o corrupt saves . For now, I'm using the bloom & HDR disabler, as my only graphics add-on. I got to basically having an unplayable game, then starting over, then finding that Open Cities Skyrim and AQWM were causing problems, and now I'm trying to see if I can salvage the setup without yet another restore from backup, and a new character. Probably can't, but I'm going to try.

But, now that I've gotten used to the changes from SPERG, I can take most anything on but the early dragon battle (and that's mostly due to a another mod made of pure awesome: Fire and Ice Overhaul), even at a low level, despite the difficult being maxed in-game. So, it may be time to give SkyRe another chance, even though low-level fighting is so deadly and fast as to not be fun (but, the same was true for FO3+FWE, which was made for the same reasons, and all was fine after some leveling). See, this is the problem with getting into a mod-fest game late in its life: there's too great a choice of mature mods.

so i went to the enb site. nothing looked like another download so i clicked on the green download arrow. i know that some people use google and amazon for file or service hosting so the address did not really seem like anything to me. the file was actually a unrelated mod manager. since i was downloading a mod it seemed like it was the real file. i actually checked for enb mod manager usage for google search but there were some forum threads on this. since it can take forever to find a relavent thread since there are hundreds of different way enb can be used with a mod manager i did not check more on this. anyways i downloaded and installed it. when it was asking to install this or that i was not to pleased although i figured it was what i had to do and i would just unistall anything i did not want. turns out the website is very badly designed and i had to download a different file. i managed to uninstall most of the crap although the mod manager is nowhere on the start menu and when i try uninstalling from the control menu it says to remove from the control panel but does not specifically say whether it will uninstall the mod manager itself. i want this gone not just out of sight. also i would like to know how i can do a sweep of my system for any loose remaining files. i can post a picture of the unistall prompt if you need me to.

If it says something like "This program is already uninstalled, clicking here will remove it from the Programs and Features list", then that means it is uninstalled and you don't have to worry about it.

in order to get my soundcard working i had to install the realtek driver first. the red light would not turn on without the realtek driver. and the asus driver would not install without the realtek driver also. why is this. mfenn you seem like you might know the computer science for this.

What red light are you talking about? Are you talking about a physical LED somewhere on the motherboard?

the program is named mod manager packages. it lists no publisher size or version but still lists it install date. when you uninstall a generic aero like box comes up that says uninstall manager. the check box says remove this manager from add remove programs. there is nothing else but a close button and a x

That means the program has already been uninstalled and the entry in Programs and Features is stale.

Ah OK. The optical out doesn't light up until the driver tells the codec to initialize it. So I wouldn't expect it to light up without the appropriate driver installed.

Windows needs to know what it can do with the chip, and how.
The codec needs to be told something.
The driver for codec is what allows it to be told something.
The maker of the codec generally makes the driver.
The maker of the codec is Realtek.

You're running Windows, in a single-disk-per-volume environment, so realistically, never. You can format a data drive ReFS, I'm pretty sure, and get checksumming, but the healing stuff needs a redundant RAID type setup.

I do prefer AFT over UFO and EFF, having ease of use yet still the important options for changing how the follower behaves. Requiem I have not tried. It's taken me until Friday night to get everything that I have running stably, so I'm going to play the game for now, with a backup of the game folder and load order. Definitely run BOSS, and clean any mods recommended for cleaning. That turns out to have been my primary CTD problem (it still occasionally CTDs, but not after mere minutes, and my previous save is not corrupted, so I only lose a few minutes).

SkyRe turns out to be quite survivable, though more difficult than standard, with The Dance of Death, to be able to turn off kill moves. After getting all the arrow tweaks in place (ABT +100% faster arrows, loaded after SkyRe, ABT's INI changes, no auto-aim 1.1, far out nav mesh distance, and customizable camera centered over-the-head), it's been smooth sailing, with the challenge coming from the game and mods, not stability or glitchiness.

I've toyed with some follower mods, but haven't put enough time into the game to decide about what follower, if any, I'll keep. I'm still experimenting w/ followers that I can get. It really depends on play style and needs, typically. In FO3, FI, Clover was the only stock follower worth a crap for me, though Jessi and Bittercup (Black Blossom's, of course) were good mod followers. As "small" as FNV was, and being more quest-oriented than random-exploration-oriented, I just went w/o a follower, and had no problems.

so just yesterday i got to the first dragon fight. this is my current game and i had been runing around before doing the bleak falls barrow. any ways i finished the fight but there was no absorbsion of the dragon soul. had deadly dragons installed i think. not sure what the problem was but that basically prevented the story from moving foward. i guess i could have tried to see if i could find a random dragon encounter but i just said screw it and unistalled skyrim. going to now install on the ssd and be carefull about my mods. unsubscribed to all but two of the steam workshop mods. had a bunch that i disabled but were still subscribed. no sure if being installed still made a mess of the error.

what is boss?

should i worry about install or load order?
