BUILD ME A SYSTEM!

Hi everyone.

I have exactly 1300$ to spend on a computer. (Building)

I have done about 2 months of research on computer parts, but I am still going to spend another 6 months looking at parts.

I am curious what would you guys get for 1300$?

It must be AMD however, Im not a big Intel fan.

So, thanks for the input.

Ok here is what I have come up with!

Case- Thermaltake Tsunami

Ram- 1 gig XMS Corsair (Questioning)

MoBo- Abit Fatal1ty (Very iffy on this)

Videocard- BFG 6800GT (Am I spending to much?)

Proc- AMD 3500+ Venice

Harddrive- 2x Seagate Barracuda 250gig HD



Not sure on what CD/ DVD drive I want.

I have a Sony DVD Handy cam and I want to be able to run the DvD's on the computer, I haven't studied up on the many versions of disk drives so bear with me.

"Build me a computer" is not going to get much love in general hardware. If you change the title to "Need advice on new system", or something that at least hints that you've done some research on your own, you'll probably get more replies.

Asking us now, when the industry is on the verge or in the process of numerous transitions (dual core, M1, R520, N7, AMD DDR2) will generate answers that are going to be meaningless in 6 months.

How 'bout you spend the next 6 months lurking on these forums, & you will know what is best for you to buy in 6 months without making a thread like this about it.

I dont know about 6 months..

I know before October 1st I will be getting my computer.

My 3 biggest problems are my Videocard, how much will the 7800 be then?
My MoBo and my Ram.
