What are you going to do with this computer? You may be going a little overboard on the processor (Personally, I'm waiting for the 7/22 price drop, but I have a couple of decent computers to use at the moment anyway).

Personally, based on my own opinion, I'd go with:

Intel e6420 Processor (Unless you have a super need for quad core)
2GB or 4GB of Good, Solid Memory (Corsair XMS2, Crucial Ballstix (Suddenly cheap with rebates as of late))
8800 GTS 640MB
1-2 Sata DVD-RW
Corsair 520W Modular PSU
Thermaltake Armor Case (I love the case, Built 6 machines with it so far, thing is massive, but excellent to work with)

Motherboards, I've been very cautious about, still seems like the c2d platform motherboards aren't as developed or stable as alot of the AMD ones have been recently. The new P35 boards look nice with DDR2 support, as do the 650 & 680i's. I've been building Gigabyte & Asus boards in most of my recent ones.

If your going to do animation and stuff, a quad-core can be considered.
