Hi,
I have several questions regarding the 7820X + X299 platform:
Main use cases will be software development including VMs and video streaming/encoding.
I know that the AMD Ryzen would be sufficiently powered but it is not an option in this case.
Thanks
I have several questions regarding the 7820X + X299 platform:
- Are the boot times still longer than 30 seconds? They were reported to be very slow in initial reviews.
- Is a Noctua NH-D15 sufficient for cooling at stock? Won't overclock the CPU or RAM.
- Is the Asus Prime X299-A mainboard a reasonable choice?
- Does the processor and the chosen mainboard work well with Windows and Linux?
- Will the X299 be a bottleneck (1 NVME M.2 Samsung EVO 960, 1 AMD RX 560, 1 SATA HDD)?
Main use cases will be software development including VMs and video streaming/encoding.
I know that the AMD Ryzen would be sufficiently powered but it is not an option in this case.
Thanks
