It isnt a guarantee lie the card, but you have a good chance of getting a nice OC with a stock card.

I see. But its not that big of a price difference. I'm not really familiar with overclocking, and I don't want to run into any problems =P

i looked up a few oc benchmarks for the 560 ti, it seems if you can overclock it to roughly 1,000Mhz Core, and 5,000Mhz Ram it is just as fast as a stock 570 and 6870.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-560-ti-gf114,2845-14.html

It's really easy to overclock a video card, its just sliders in the driver control panel.
If you go too far, the computer just locks up its no big deal. I wouldn't overclock the video card till your 100% sure your cpu overclock is stable.

My video cards never oc as much as the ones reviewers get... good luck!

no matter what clocks you get your still ahead bang for buck wise.

So since I'm well under my budget should I just get a 570 and overclock that instead?

If you manually downclock the RAM to 1333Mhz then you MIGHT be able to lower the voltage to 1.5v

OP, don't get too worked up about our suggestions on price. People here just really don't like to see others wasting money for no good reason. If you are loaded and it truly doesn't matter, then go wild. We'll continue to try to send you down the sensible path though.

I'm not trying to get worked up on price =P I just want to get the best machine I can for my money =) I'm still well under budget and can spend alittle more. I'll be ordering the rest of the parts in about 3 hours if anyone has anything else to add. I decided to go with the 570 for now though. I got the ram early because I thought it was a killer deal, I didn't realize about the voltage =/ So I just wanted to make sure it works, otherwise I'll send it back and order different ram.

I still stand by my previous comments that you're spending too much in places where it doesn't matter. However, the parts you've picked out (other than the RAM) will work together.

I'm still $100 under budget... I wasn't worried with saving money, I had a budget that I planned on spending, and I got within $100 of it.

And I've talked to numerous people that told me that the ram will work.

Yes, it will "work" at 1.65V, for a while at least. However, know that you're slowly killing your CPU.

You really confuse me to be honest. You cheap out where it matters, but spend a bunch of extra money where it doesn't.

How did I "cheap out" where it mattered? I got the ram that I thought was going to be good for a really good deal. I upgraded the CPU/GPU/SSD because I did have the extra budget. I got a bigger power supply even though I might not need it. So where did I exactly "cheap out"?

One thing I have come to understand at Anandtech is to NEVER order anything unless you get an affirmative from the knowledgeable people here. Ask till it hurts but get a general consensus and go ahead first before ordering something online.

Personally, I am waiting for AMD's bulldozer to come out before I decide on a new gaming system. I guess you need your system now right? No big deal I guess.

I have a 22 inch LG l227-wtg monitor but my monitors maximum resolution (1680x1050) limits my choices of graphics cards. I don't remember if you said what is your maximum resolution for gaming? Something to consider as well.

Still a nice system all around.

Bolded the place where you cheaped out. You saw a low price, then the "gotta save some money" instinct took over and you purchased without researching fully.

Just because I thought I was getting a good deal, doesn't mean I cheaped out. I would gladly spend the money. I didn't know how long the deal was going to last, and most people take awhile responding in this thread so I asked a few friends that are knowledgeable and they said it was a good deal. In any case, I'm trying the ram out to see how it works, and if it doesn't work the way I need it, my friend wants it, and I'll just buy ram that does work better. I've already talked to Kingston about the issue and they told me I could just lower the voltage on it, but that it wouldn't run like its supposed to.

Grats! 4.4Ghz is pretty much the sweet spot for hassle-free Sandy Bridge overclocking.

Ya, ran into a problem though. Was playing battlefield bad company on all high settings for about an hour and the cpu ran hot. I had to tune it down a notch =/
