building new P4 machine

Im building a new machine I want to base it on an ASUS P4G8X Deluxe MOBO. I want to use Rambus PC1066 memory with this board. But all it says is it supports Dual-Channel DDR. Can I use the Rambus memory I already have with this MOBO? Any suggestions?

I want to build something like this: cooler master case, P4G8X-e main board, PC 1066 ram, P4 3.06 cpu, 120 gig HD ATA 133, ATI radeon 9700, creative SoundBlaster platinum.

How many watt's should my power supply be? I have a 300 watt now. TIA - ewarmour

Hmmm....ok...couple things. First, There is no "e" model of the P4G8X. There is the P4G8X and the P4G8X-D (Deluxe), which includes IEEE 1394, Serial ATA & Gigabit LAN. Secondly, the P4G8X, which is based on the Intel E7205 Granite Bay chipset supports DDR ONLY! Single channel or Dual Channel. Therefore, no, you cannot use Rambus memory with the P4G8X. And lastly, the P4G8X does not support Ultra DMA 133. It supports Ultra DMA 100/66/33 only! So you'll just be underusing your hard drive a little bit, but I don't see the big deal with Ultra DMA 133 anyways... I'm not so sure about the power supply. Usually, they are 350W I think, but I don't see why a 300W wouldn't work as well.

The Gigabyte 8INXP board is proving to be the better granite bay motherboard - innovative features and potent overclocker. And use two Corsair 256MB DDR400 CL2 memory modules. You need at least two memory modules in order to take advantage of the dual-channel memory controller - doubles memory bandwidth. And DDR400 in order to be better prepaired for future processor upgrades - 800MHz QDR FSB Prescott processor. Western Digital Special Edition Hard drive is the perfect choice - 120GB is available. Replace the Audigy with a Turtle beach santa cruz. Enermax EG465P-VE(FMA) 431W power supply. No need to go for the Pentium4 3.06GHz processor. It features Hyperthreading but Hyperthreading definitely aint worth all that extra money. Get a Pentium 4 2.4B with C1 stepping (sold at atacom.com or pcnut.com, make sure you get the one with C1 stepping in the product description) - very fast. Later, if you want to overclock, you could get the 2.4B to 3.06Ghz simply by increasing the FSB to 170MHz - locking the AGP/PCI buses ofcourse.
