What was the final price?
I'm looking to buy, almost exactly, the same setup, and upgrading from the same chip you have.

I love newegg. My order from them which I placed around 3pm yesterday is already out for delivery, that's with their standard shipping option. Meanwhile ClubIT's stuff will be here next Thursday.

Good call on the P182B. I am using that chassis for my current rig, and I built my wife's rig with the P180b six months ago. Great build quality, excellent air circulation, no sharp edges, pre-installed fans, easy drive bay installation, and extremely quiet. Looks nice in gunmetal black. Just make sure that your PSU has a long power cord, because the PSU goes into the bottom compartment in this chassis. It's great for airflow, but can cause a problem with certain PSU/mainboard combinations.

Also a good call going with the 8800 instead of 8600 GT. The 8600 will bottleneck even a low end dual core, let alone a quad. That video card would have made the rest of your hardware a pointless extravegance. Best to go with all mid/low priced components, or all high priced components.

what are your guys thoughts on the gigbye P35-DS3P or the Asus P5K? I've had crappy experience with my Abit Ic7 so I want to avoid Abit this time around.

Nice...what Memory did you get ? aren't there some RAM incompatibility issues with Gigabytes ?

ok, then I'll go with an Antec P182B case and a Tuniq Tower which seems to be about 1/2 the price of the TR Ultra Extreme 120. Are these things a PITA to install?

As for why 4x1gig vs 2x2gig, I had read here that the 1gig parts are typically more tolerant of overclocking. If that's not accurate I'd rather just go 2x2. Plus further reading has indicated that overclocking memory these days doesn't provide much of a return, so I may just save some $$$ and go 2x2 anyway.

put the backplate on, apply As5 or similar, screw it down, done.

Dayam im late in this topic. :\

The BEST overclocking board which requires the least amount of voltage on the CPU for same OC:

Gigabyte P35-DQ6 however i own both this and a Gigabyte P35-DS3P the layout looks identical, except the onboard coolers.

The Most reliable so far by consenus, however the gigabyte isnt that far behind:
ASUS P5K-Delux or P5K-E

Hot boards which look very interesting:
Asus P5K-Premium and Asus P5K-Blitz

Best Crunch board:
Abit IP35-E

The Abit cant live up to an ASUS or the gigabyte P35-DQ6.

oh incase someone is asking me how i know:

I have:
EVGA 680i-A1 <--- absoultely HATE this board
Gigabyte P35-DQ6
Gigabyte P35-DS3P
Asus P5K-E
Asys P5K-Delux
Abit IP35-E <--- BEST crunching board. meaning if you need to set up a farm on a cheap and stable board.

For $95, Gigabyte P35-DS3L might also be good if you dont' need RAID, 8 SATA ports and can live with an older version of onboard sound.

Im running the DS3R, which has all of those features, and is still $50 less than the Abit IP35.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should have read the post above more carefully about installing the Tuniq. I had just about everything assembled with the exception of the CPU and Video card. I then went to install the CPU and Tuniq. D'OH!!! You have to install a backplate on the underside of the motherboard. )(#&$)(*&#$.... the whole motherboard needs to come out now. FUQME!!!!

Ok, we're in business finally, though I have no idea how anyone is supposed to do any sort of wire management with this many wires. I wouldn't even know where to begin. I just kind of shoved them all out of the way of the fans.

I had to pull out the motherboard again after mounting the backplate because there was simply no way to screw down the 4th screw on the Tuniq otherwise. I debated on XP Pro vs. Vista Business but I have Vista installing so that I can take advantage of DX10 eventually.

Sort of a waste of horsepower since Vista is such a pig compared to XP, so that bothers me, but I'm alpha testing Hellgate: London and there are rumors that it will take advantage of DX10 down the road.

Abit IP35-E is only $70 AR. Was $55 @ NewEgg with the Paypal bonus code.
