Building question.

How do you guys go about building your system -

Do you Install mobo/CPU/cooler and then power up first boot and then install HD and optical drives??

Or do you install everything at once and then load first boot? Including case fans, etc.?

Should I take it step by step and make sure everything is fine and then go back and add components and repeat , etc..

I do everything at once. Then if I have any problems I remove 1 component at a time until I find the source.

I usually just install everything, go into the bios and change some settings, then install the OS.

I've been lucky so far so I haven't had to trouble shoot.

I assemble the motherboard, heatsink, ram, and video card first. I test this with a power supply ouf the case usually on top of the motherboard box to see if the basic essentials are working. When I get a boot screen I configure the basic bios parameters and shutdown. After the motherboard bundle is complete I install in chassis and install drives, etc.

I tend to install everything at once but what human2k stated is probably more idealistic just so you know the core compponents are working before you put them into the box. Installing and uninstalling is quite a hassel especially if you find out somethng doesn't work after everything is in place.

Don't bother with wire management until the end...undoing all that handy work is the worst.
