Based on the reviews here:
http://www.silentpcreview.com/article699-page1.html
and my prior experience with PSUs, I have decided to go with a Corsair VX-450 for an HTPC that I'm building for a client.
Budget is about $850
The HTPC will be running:
C2D E7400
ASUS mobo with G43 chipset
Fanless ATI HD 4350 512mb
(1 to 2) x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black
Blu Ray drive
2x2 GB RAM
Roughly 2x 120mm case fans
Lian Li HTPC case
No overclocking.
I'm well aware 450W is more than enough for this setup. My only question is does anyone have any reason to sway me away from a corsair VX450... i.e. any suggestions for a cheap, fanless PSU or possibly an even more quiet PSU than this one for a good price?
