bump

Ok I have noticed a small bump under my right nipple about a week ago and I thought it was nothing. After a week, it is still there. Is this normal or should I go see a doctor? I am only 17 and dont think it could be anything serious but I thought it might be better to seek some advice on this.

I am somewhat embarrased to tell my dad but will if I know it is serious. The bump is not visible on the outside but when I press on it I can clearly feel it. It is not big at all and I was thinking it may be an ingrown zit since I have a couple zits on my chest.

Anyone else have anything like this?

When I was younger, roughly your age, i developed lumps under each nipple. They were fairly solid but not really noticable from the outside. I eventually swallowed my pride and went to the doctor.

Turns out that while your body is overloaded with hormones at the phase in life you can develop swollen glands. Something to the effect of producting extra estrogen to counter the high levels of testosterone. It is actually a very common occurance and more prominent in heavier people.

Not sure if what you're describing is the same thing, just telling a story.

By the way, the lumps were there for a while but eventually completely went away.

Ok thanks you for the input. I probably will wait one more week to see if it disappears then I may have to tell my dad just in case.

I had them and they lasted longer than a few weeks, thats for sure. Almost 22 now and haven't noticed them for at least 4-5 years.

Everyone...including men...has some amount of breast tissue underneath their nipples. As long as there isn't any discharge, you shouldn't worry about it.

Also, I would recommend that you stay away from soy products.

Had the same type of bump a few years ago. My doctor told me not to worry about it unless it got bigger. It went away after a few months.
