I don't think there was any speech.

It's just a teaser trailer. Which is kind of annoying, because they teased a teaser... twice.

But at least it's only 3 months away now... I still like Halo, I'll probably end up picking this up.

I wonder if some guy at Bungie thought he was going to be clever and hide that date in there, thinking that it would be weeks before somebody caught it. Then, within an hour of the trailer release, it's already all over the internet.

Yeah, that's the Superintendent. He was used during the promotion to the lead up of the canceled E3 announcement and obviously used in this one. For some reason, he makes me think of a Wall-E type construct/caretaker. I wonder if he's going to be kind of like Cortana...

X3F did a "video analysis" of the teaser. They show where you can see the Prophet of Regret's ship in the background. That makes the setting Halo 2. It is the Prophet's ship jumping that causes the destruction.
