I don't really pair the beer I'm drinking. The only thing I prefer is it being draft. Then I choose usually choose a belgian or a hef

Depends, but something that I find more "refreshing" since sometimes you need to wash down a bite of the burger or fries. Either a session ale/lager, pale ale (not IPA) or ESB are the best pairings I've found. It also depends on your burger toppings as well.

Depends on the Joint. At a bar or chain, Coors Light. At a fancier restaurant, with better quality meat, a nice porter.

All depends on what is on my burger. I prefer an IPA with a bacon & bleu cheese burger.
A spicy burger and I prefer something lower on the ibu chain.

I had this:

with this:

A couple of weeks ago and it paired together very well. The beer is fantastic.

Then I had this:

with this:

Last week and it was good too, though I think I preferred the first pairing. I have purchased both beers on their own so I do like them both.

Any good Hefeweizen with a burger = win
This. Generally a burger is going to overpower most flavors of a hoppier or darker ale, so IPAs, stouts and porters are generally not a great pairing, and I want something that will be refreshing with the sheer quantities of grease I'm eating. Hefeweizen is great for that. I'll even turn to a pisswater lager with a burger just for something to drink quickly for refreshment's sake.

Yep. Definitely lean towards something like a wheat or a pale ale or lager for burgers. I just want a lighter drink that's not malt heavy since the burger is heavy enough on it's own.

I typically order/buy the most bitter IPA I can find to pair with burgers. No way a burger overpowers some of the IPAs I drink.

Usually just a good ole' Yuengling.

Yuenling isn't bad but I think it's really overrated.

For burgers I like a stout if I'm really hungry and have plenty of room otherwise a Hef. Hefs are really refreshing with a good burger.

I don't do beef, but for barbecues I find that nothing is better than Stone's Chipotle beer.

It really depends on the burger for me. I actually like a darker beer with many of my burgers; something smooth and with a bit of bitterness.

A hef can be great with a lighter burger, but I find the wheaty/lemony flavour distracting sometimes.

Thread is reminding me that I need to stop at Brew City and pick up a 12-pack of Hacker-Pschorr. Now to go get some chuck and grind.

Speaking of hamburgers, anyone ever tried to add some of that liquid smoke to the burger before grilling?

It depends on the burger ...
http://www.bulldogsgrill.com/menu.html

If I'm eating a "double d" (bacon double cheese burger), then usually I go for a wheat beer (Goose Island 312 perhaps), or a hefeweizen.

If I'm eating a "hangover burger" (cheeseburger with fried egg), then I'll go for a stout or porter.

If I'm eating "Chillihead burger" (cheeseburger with chilli), then I'll go for an IPA
