Burn-in tool?

What's a good tool for me to burn-in my custom built system? Should I leave it burn-in overnight?

Sandra is one good program to burn in your system. Loop the cpu burn in 50 or so times to check for stability. 3DMark also works. Loop that sucker for a few hours too. I wouldn't say its necessary to run any burn in program over night. If the system can handle it for several hours, its probably stable.

Yes, the idea is to stress every component as much as possible to test the stability of the system.

New components will usually fail early on in the game if something is wrong by torture testing it so this way you won't have to wait so long to see if something is wrong. This way you will see if your machine is going to work correctly as well. After the test, if things work ok, then chances are that they will continue to work until they finally wear out and not due to manufacturers defects that usually turn up early.
