i got rejected big time from the CC near summit place mall in Michigan. Here is the question guys, i just got accepted from AMEX blue(typical, i get OKed the day before they cancel BVG) and will be getting the card on the 16th. Any chance that i will be able to use a print off from best buy that is 3 weeks old to have AMEX PM with?

I do not see a problem as you are allowed to file a claim for up to 60 days after purchase. Make sure you get a good printout now while it is still online (I just checked link in janeson original post and it still works).

If anyone happens to find out if I/we/others can buy another and get BVG claim after alredy filing one, let me know.....I do not want to be greedy but one of these babies would look great on the second floor of my house!!!

Hi,

Went to my local CC here in CT. They had one CT-27SX11 on display and at least another 2 in the warehouse. I showed the salesman the printout of the Best Buy $239.50 which he took to his boss and returned to say they could not match the price. I then showed him the CC receipt from Ohio for $449+ which they immediately agreed to match. I bought 2 on separate sales slips and told them to hold them in the warehouse until I picked them up. This way if the PM doesn't go through I'll have them accept them as returns and credit my account.

warning, I've experienced some problems with CC, some of them are aware of the PM going on and are immediately refusing, they are even refusing to match another CC store.

chrisjor, so you're saying that amex will pm a printout of the BB item that says "sorry, no longer taking orders for this item."?? have people been sending amex that page? or did you guys who got the pm from amex print it out when BB was still taking orders?

that is exactly what is being said.....I printed out the Best Buy ad exactly as it shows on the website and faxed it in. I would rather take my chances that way and be honest, than alter the print out and have them (Amex) research the web page and decide you are up to no good.

I was positive that this was not going to work and that I was going to have to return this TV, everything worked out just as the thread stated.

My two cents:

I was able to get CC to drop to $450 without much hassle, of course they said they couldn't come near the $239 from BB when I showed them the print out. I love the TV though, definitely worth $450. I had been holding out for HDTV prices to drop, but from what I've been reading, they are going to end up screwing current HDTV owners when they add the copy protection format scheme in the next couple of years.

For those of you who can't get CC to pricematch, here's an alternative I found. Bluelight.com has the Panasonic TV for $499.99, as someone pointed out earlier. The drawback is that shipping is $80. However, there is a 10% off coupon floating around that still works (I went through checkout and everything) that takes off $50. If you go through ebates, you'll get another $10 or so off, so you're paying $470 in the end, shipped. One caveat, though, if you're planning on pricematching, Amex will probably pricematch from $450, and not $499, so you'll end up losing like $40 (as their max match is $250) on shipping fees. Hope this is useful.

I went to circuit city with a friend today who wanted to get this tv. They matched the $449 price to Sears without any hassle. I even told him I'm probably gonna come back early next week and pick one up for myself. I was impressed with how little effort I had to use. Are people getting AMEX to pricematch the BB price even though it says no longer taking orders?

I didn't know about this whole AMEX Blue deal until a few days ago. I applied online and was instantly approved...but it will be a few weeks before I hold the card in my hand. Does the Platinum AMEX have the price matching deal? If so, I'll ask my brother to use his card for me....

IMHO your point is only valid if the price for the open box item is less than the price of the item you're price matching. In this case the open box item is $160 more than the price matched item. In fact AMEX loses less money by you price matching the open box item as opposed to a sealed box item (which is $50 more). It's certainly easy enough to call AMEX to confirm this. OC bros, let's do this before those two get sold!
